Bsc(hons), MBCHB, FASBP, Member ACP, Cert Aviation Medicine. NZ born and trained at Auckland School of Medicine graduating in 1992. She have had a varied career background including general practice, emergency medicine, breast medicine, psychiatry, bariatric and obesity care and the management of varicose veins. She have returned to Waimauku Doctors as a part time GP after working in these other areas of medicine. Currently I’m embarking on a Masters degree in aviation and occupational medicine. I love medicine and the opportunities it provides for learning and ongoing care, especially in general practice. She enjoy emergency work, minor procedures, psychological health, women’s health and preventative care. Her areas of specialized care are in breast disease, varicose vein management and weight management of bariatric patients. She is certified by the Civil Avaition Authority as a designated medical examiner for pilot licensing. She live at Muriwai with my partner Chris, my 2 children and our various pets. Spending time with my family and friends along with a bit of running, reading and general R&R is what I love to do.

He delighted to join Silver Fern Medical Centre from 1st May because this is my community and I wish to help in providing a great medical home for our families. We all have a story – I am lucky to have had several careers which include engineering, business, and consulting, prior to becoming a medical doctor – these diverse experiences help me relate with the health and wellness stories of each client and family I have the privilege to consult with. I enjoy all aspects of family healthcare, particularly supporting people with mental health conditions and assisting them in their recovery journeys.

She graduated 12 years ago from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing. She worked in medical and surgical wards in Auckland and in Dublin before moving into the field of dermatology practice. Jo says: ‘Having recently returned from 6 years away in Europe with my husband and two young daughters, I am delighted to be working in my home community again’.
