The Birmingham Skin Clinic

Dr Michelle Thomson obtained a BSc Honours degree in Life Sciences from Queen's University, Canada in 1994. She then qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School and trained in general medicine to become a Member of The Royal College of Physicians of London. She subsequently completed her specialist training in Dermatology in the West Midlands and was then appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist to The Birmingham Skin Centre at City Hospital. Dr Michelle Thomson has a practice which deals with all aspects of general dermatology, with special interests in skin cancer and dermatological surgery . Her publications include papers on clinical dermatology and skin cancers. She has given several national and international presentations and co-authored chapters in textbooks.

Alison has been working as a Medical Secretary and PA for over 25 years , including 17 years of dedicated work in Dermatology . She plays an important role in assisting Michelle Thomson with the day to day running of the Birmingham Skin Clinic . She arranges appointments, theatre sessions, manages queries and provides continuing administrative support. She facilitates communication between the clinic, patients, GPs and other specialists to ensure an integrated pathway of patient care.
