Finding a professional and trustworthy dermatologist in Seoul was much like dating in my opinion: there are a lot of fishes (dermatologists, skin clinics, “face spas”, etc.) in the sea (city) but not all of them have your best interest in heart and have other motives (a lot of them don’t really think of what may be in the best interest of your skin’s health in the long run and want you to sign up for “good deals” on lasers, wrinkle treatment, fillers, etc.)
I found Dr. Jon through a friend’s referral 5 years ago after being confused and jaded from other clinics where I spent a lot of money on procedures that didn’t show any results. From the start, he didn’t recommend any procedures that he didn’t think I needed or that seem unnatural (he says he will let me know when I need fillers but that my skin doesn’t need it now). I also liked that he thinks about your skin’s health along with looking beautiful/youthful. I’ve been going to him for mini Fraxel, regular Fraxel, double-gold for the last 5 years, and introduced my family and close friends to him as well.
There’s a reason why everyone is so positive about Dr Jon - you simply can’t find someone that is: 1) dual-qualified in the US and Korea and able to speak fluent English to break down all the confusing dermatology terms; 2) professional and dedicated to serving the best interest of his patients (not just to sell the “best package”); 3) warm and frank (I especially enjoy the life tidbits he shares with me while trying to distract me from the little pain I might feel from the laser treatments). I will continue to be his patient until the day I need fillers, treatment for wrinkles, and maybe a facelift (I am 34 now). I am grateful to Dr Jon and his staff for all his contributions to the health and beauty of my skin, and I highly recommend Teng Teng Skin Clinic.
