A new addition to the d-spa family in 2012, Dr. Robert Cox is the principal dentist at the South Yarra practice. Having graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) in 2005, Dr. Cox served five years in the RAAF working as a dentist in various city and country locations throughout Victoria whilst also working in private practice.

He was initially motivated to enter the dental professional after witnessing firsthand the direct and significant positive impact dentistry could have on people’s lives and cites an enjoyable patient experience as being his main concern: “I have a gentle approach and like to keep patients informed throughout the procedure so they know what to expect.” Dr. Cox’s dental philosophy centres on providing professional, tailored, high quality dentistry in a friendly, caring environment and he explains that the most enjoyable aspect of his role that he takes great pride in is "getting to know patients and being able to make a real difference to their oral health and appearance." 

arah graduated from one of the first oral therapy/dental hygiene courses established at Melbourne University. She joined the d-spa family in 2001 and has since become an integral part of d-spa’s success over the past 12 years, where her management expertise has helped further develop the d-spa business. Warm and easy going, Sarah has unsurprisingly developed a loyal patient following through her unwavering commitment to delivering patient care excellence through getnle yet effective treatment. In particular, Sarah harbours a special interest in periodontal treatment and dental management and is also a committed promoter of holistic dental care. 

Following a positive high school work experience placement at a local dental studio in his home state of Queensland, Joel was inspired to enroll in the School of Dentistry and Oral Health (Griffith University) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health and Dental Science (BOralH) in 2010. Subsequently, Joel joined the d-spa family in 2011 where his outgoing and warm demeanour have made him a welcome addition to the team.

Joel’s dental philosophy is strongly centered on preventive oriented patient care. He believes that using this as a core approach allows him to develop effective treatment planning for each and every individual patient regardless of their dental circumstances, which ultimately builds upon a solid foundation of preventing the cause of dental decay and gum disease. Joel also takes great pride in providing the utmost professionalism and high quality patient care and strives to eliminate patient anxiety in order to ensure that his patients have a pleasant and enjoyable dental experience: “I always try to ease discomfort through building a rapport with my patients, striking up friendly conversation in order to get to know each and every individual on a personal level. Gaining a patient’s trust is something I place high priority on and is the key to a successful patient relationship”. As a d-spa Oral Health Therapist, Joel is also qualified in working with and is proud to be able to create a fun dental experience for first time child patients.
