DENTAL SURGEON / PRINCIPAL Dr David Peters – Biography Dr David Peters was born in South Africa and raised in New Norfolk after his family immigrated to Tasmania when he was 11 years old. Dr Peters studied a Bachelor of Science at the University of Adelaide in 1981. Dr Peters started Bayfield Dental thirty years ago, initially as a sole practitioner and over the years has built it up into a multi-dentist practice. This success is based on the principle of considering the patients needs as paramount whilst applying a conservative and preventative approach to dentistry. Dr Peters is an active member of the Australian Dental Association and over the years has served on many of its committees. He regularly attends conferences and meetings to extend his knowledge and keep him up with the latest developments in dentistry. Dr Peters offers a wealth of experience in a family orientated general dental practice. He has mentored and guided many graduate dentists. He is supported by highly skilled motivated dental assistants who complete the dental experience in a relaxed and professional atmosphere. In his spare time, Dr Peters enjoys keeping fit at the gym, sharing good food and wine with his family and friends and experiencing first hand different cultures and sights that overseas travel offers.

B.D.S. (Adel.) DENTAL SURGEON Dr Janney – Biography Dr Katherine Janney has worked at Bayfield Dental for 20 years. After graduating from the University of Adelaide she returned to her home state of Tasmania and has been providing a diverse range of general dentistry to her patients since. Dr Janney enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and strives to offer a relaxed and caring dental experience. She is passionate about educating her patients to ensure they enjoy good life long dental health. The greatest enjoyment of her dental career has been having the opportunity to get to know her patients and their families over the many years. Dr Janney is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends professional development courses to keep up to date with the latest technologies and to broaden her dental knowledge. When not practising dentistry, Dr Janney is busy tending her two young children and dreaming of her next holiday destination.

B.D.S. (Adel.) DENTAL SURGEON Dr Farmer – Biography Dr Alastair Farmer grew up in the Adelaide Hills and studied at the University of Adelaide. He first studied Health Science and then completed his degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Dr Farmer is enthusiastic and passionate about all aspects of dentistry. He believes that every individual is unique and therefore understands that all patients will have different needs and requirements. Dr Farmer has an interest in sedation dentistry, including happy gas and general anaesthesia for; nervous patients, wisdom teeth removal and children's dentistry. He enjoys the challenge of treating both adults and children who are apprehensive about dental treatment. He understands that some patients may feel nervous when visiting the dentist. Therefore he strives to provide every treatment in a caring manner and reinforces a kind and positive approach to dental care. Dr Farmer is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends continuing education courses to extend his knowledge and skills. He believes in keeping up to date with the advances in dentistry. Dr Farmer is the Chairperson of the Tasmanian Dental Association Graduates Committee, and regularly attends meetings supporting the future of dentistry in Tasmania.
