Dental Bridges
Bridges are tooth-coloured material dental appliances (fixed or removable) replacing lost teeth. Bridgework looks and functions almost like the real thing. All-ceramic bridges can hardly be distinguished from natural teeth, are highly aesthetic, and retain a natural appearance under different light conditions. If you are suffering from tooth loss or need crown or bridge work come into our friendly practice at Deakin Court and experience Preventive Dental Care.

Dental Crowns
Porcelain crowns are an aesthetic, natural-looking teeth available in colour, shape and clarity. These t tooth restorations are translucent and made with the finest materials available.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small "anchor." It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing tooth root. A prosthetic replacement tooth is then secured to the top of the implant. Dental implants offer a more permanent solution for replacing lost teeth. If you are missing teeth, then dental implants offer the most stable, long term option.

Extractions

Wisdom Tooth Extraction
When there is not enough space the wisdom teeth become trapped and often push into the neighbouring teeth which can cause discomfort or pain. They can also partially erupt from the gum which can cause a pocket in the gum, prone to bacterial infections. It is recommended that wisdom teeth be removed as early as possible to avoid infection and crowding or pushing teeth out of alignment. The removal of the wisdom teeth can be completed in-chair using a local anaesthetic or under general anaesthetic in a hospital. For more severe cases you may be required to see a specialist in which case you will be provided with a referral.

Fillings

White Filling
A white filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost due to decay or accidental damage. Unlike silver (amalgam) fillings, white filling material is mercury-free. White fillings hold more successfully to the structure of your teeth, they can be used to form more precise edges and they merge more cosmetically into the natural shades/tones of your existing teeth.

Hygienist Session

Inlay or Onlay
Cosmetic dentistry offers many restorative materials other than silver amalgam. Ceramic materials provide strong, aesthetic, wear resistant restorations. Cosmetic bonding fills gaps between teeth and restores chipped or broken teeth. We can also restore worn amalgam with tooth colored inlays and onlays. All-ceramic tooth restorations are designed and made at our office here in Deakin Court in a single visit.

Periodontist Consultation
f you are experiencing any of these symptoms it might signify that you have gum or periodontal disease. Known as gingivitis in its early stages periodontal disease can be characterised by these symptoms. Gingivitis is a treatable, even reversible condition which occurs when a build up of plaque surrounds you teeth and beings to attack the supporting gum tissues. If left untreated gingivitis can later turn into periodontitis which is although treatable, cannot be reversed. Periodontitis occurs when the bacteria attacking the gum tissues delves deeper and begins to destroy the surrounding ligaments and bones. If left untreated this will eventually lead to bone recession and tooth loss. Gum disease (in some form) is incredibly common and most people will experience it at some stage throughout their lives. An effective oral hygiene routine can dramatically help reduce the risks of its development and a system of regular checks will help to detect and prevent any issues before they escalate. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms described above, contact our experienced team here in Deakin Court to arrange a consultation.

Root canals
In most cases a root canal treatment will take two appointments - a preparation appointment at the end of which an antibiotic preparation is left within the root system to promote healing. One month later the tooth is then filled, providing the tooth is pain free. After the root filling is completed the tooth will need a high quality restoration to complete the bacterial seal of the root canal seal. Most commonly a crown will be recommended, especially for posterior teeth.

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth Whitening
In-Office Whitening System is a tooth whitening procedure. It's safe effective and fast, very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth can be dramatically whiter. Whitening is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results. The convenience of in-office whitening in comparison to days of wearing trays and gradual whitening makes it the ideal choice for the busy individual. Our in-office Whitening procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Our clinician then applies the proprietary Whitening Gel, which is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A five-minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure.

TMJ - Temporomandibular Joint Treatment
f you are experiencing chronic or acute pain in your face, head, neck and/or jaws, you may be suffering from a condition called Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). Some of the symptoms of TMJ disorder include headaches; pain in your neck, throat or shoulder or even your back; clicking, popping or grating sounds in your jaw or your jaw ‘locking’; pain in your jaws, ear, or face; grinding or clenching your teeth, or a bite that feels uncomfortable of ‘off’; problems with opening your mouth comfortably; ear problems; including ringing in your ears or decreased hearing; swelling on one side of your face; scalp tenderness; problems swallowing; vision problems or dizziness.

Veneers
Veneers, also known as laminates, are thin shells that cover the front of the teeth. Using ultra-thin porcelain veneers, we can change the size, shape and colour of your teeth in just a few appointments to help enhance your smile. Veneers can be used to correct crooked, gapped, small, serrated, discoloured, stained or generally unsatisfying teeth. If you feel veneers are the right option for you, contact our friendly team to arrange a consultation and pop in to our experienced Dentist at Deakin Court.
