Breast Augmentation

The breast augmentation procedure itself takes about 1 to 2 hours to perform. You will then be in the recovery area for another 2 hours. Once you have recovered from the effects of anesthesia, you will be allowed to go home, but it is imperative that a responsible adult accompany you. You will feel discomfort after the surgery, and we recommend that you take the pain medication as prescribed. You will also be given antibiotics to take for 5 days. Your bandages should remain on until you are seen again in the office, usually 2 to 3 days following surgery. At that time you will be asked to wear a support bra or sports bra for a period of 4 weeks. You should not wear a push-up bra or bras with underwires, as these may displace the implants. When you are able to tolerate it, you should begin daily breast massages; this will help over time to keep the implants soft and to settle in their final position. In the first few weeks after breast augmentation surgery, the implants will appear unusually high. This is normal, and with time the swelling will subside and the implants will settle into proper position.

Facelift

The procedure usually takes about three to four hours, depending on the extent of your particular surgery. Small drainage tubes are typically placed behind the ears to drain any excess fluid in the first 24 to 48 hours. A non-constricting bulky dressing is placed for comfort and to minimize swelling and bruising. Patients usually go home the same day, but depending on the level of comfort and the extent of the individual's procedure, it is not uncommon to stay in the hospital overnight. If you do go home the same day, it is imperative that you arrange for an escort to accompany you. If that is not possible, we can make arrangements for your safe transportation back home.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping, enhances the shape and appearance of the nose, and thus can significantly improve self-confidence. The best candidates for the nose reshaping procedure are people who want improvement but also have realistic expectations. At the time of your initial consultation, a thorough examination of your nose and all your facial features will be performed. This will identify any cosmetic and functional issues that are of concern to you. It is important that you inform us about any history of trauma or surgery to your nose or if you have any seasonal allergies or problems with your breathing. All of these are important factors when we discuss all the surgical options with you. Complications of rhinoplasty are usually infrequent and minor. However, there is always the slight possibility of infection, bleeding, or a reaction to the anesthetic. The rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed using the "closed" technique, where incisions are placed inside the nose and therefore are not visible. Occasionally, it may be necessary to use the "open" approach; this is done with a small incision at the base, or columella, of the nose. This technique allows for better visualization of certain internal structures of the nose, and the small scar is practically invisible.

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, performed alone or in combination with liposuction, is a very safe cosmetic procedure when performed by a plastic surgeon; nevertheless, there are certain risks and complications associated with the tummy tuck procedure. Infections and blood clots are rare, but can occur. Infections can be treated by drainage and antibiotics, and the incidence of clots is minimized by moving and walking around as soon as possible after surgery.

Dermal Fillers

New generation injectable filler that offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without surgery. The unique composition of Dermal Fillers provides immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting results. This is because these Dermal Fillers are made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. The microspheres (particles) form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows, and this produces the desired long-term effect. These unique advantages make these Dermal Fillers an excellent choice for facial shaping and contouring.

Treatment for Wrinkles

Injection of Treatment for Wrinkles Cosmetic into the small muscles between the brows, in the forehead, and at the corners of the eyes causes those specific muscles to halt their function (be paralyzed), thereby improving the appearance of the wrinkles. This paralysis is temporary, and re injection is necessary within three to ten months. Options for alternative treatment include injection of either collagen or free fat, or the surgical excision of the muscles, usually through a brow lift incision. Complications are rare but may include paralysis of a nearby muscle, resulting in its temporary loss of function (e.g., a drooping eyelid).
