Board Certified in Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery. She grew up in a family that valued the healing arts. Her father, a Pinellas County surgeon and her mother, a nurse, carried a profound respect for the medical journey from illness to wellness that she observed and now considers a great honor to be a part of. At the tender age of seven, she accompanied her father on his rounds and by age 12, she began joining him in the OR to observe surgery. She ompleted her undergraduate degree at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. She graduated, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University Medical School in Miami where she was president of the Women’s Academic Fraternity. Her Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty training were at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, MI. Dr. Hayes received her subspecialty training at a high-intensity, inner-city facility, Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, MI and completed her professional training at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI. She moved back to Pinellas County and opened private practice and has been here ever since. She is an expert and national speaker for Vaginal Rejuvenation, daVinci Robotic GYN Surgery, Menopause and Women’s Health Issues. When she finds free time in her schedule, Dr. Hayes enjoys travel and relaxing in the ‘sanctuary of calm’ that she cultivated in her backyard by way of her interest in tropical botanical gardening. She believes by creating and maintaining beauty in nature, she is applying the healing and nurturing that are components of her medical practice to create her own healthy home environment. She is a member of Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fellow of the America College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology and ?Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1994

She knew she wanted to be in the medical field since she was a teenager. After she and her identical twin sister graduated high school, Sharon moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to pursue a nursing career. Upon graduation from the University of North Carolina, Sharon became a labor and delivery nurse. From there, she accepted and embraced life as a traveling nurse position and ventured across the U.S. for 7 years. It was in 1995 when Sharon relocated permanently to Florida to attend the University of Florida, where she became a Nurse Practitioner. Sharon joined Visionary Woman Care (at Visionary Centre for Women) in 2010. Part of what attracted her to Visionary Woman Care is the progressive and caring combination of interest, medicine and excellence that is evident in each team member and the overall approach to women’s health. She is our Practice Manager. She finds it fulfilling to be a part of a practice where educating and assisting women on how they can take care of themselves personally, emotionally and physically is at it’s very core. She brings fun and compassionate drive to Visionary Centre for Women by wearing many different hats. She joined our team in 2010 and has been engaged in promoting the talents and offerings that Dr. Hayes has to offer, from day one. It is her genuine interest in helping people and a desire to build life-long-lasting relationships that makes her impact at Visionary Centre for Women second to none!
