He grew up in Japan and attended Nagasaki University School of Medicine. After practicing as a plastic surgeon in Japan, he relocated to the U.S. Dr. Alex Kim had surgery training at Cedar Sinai Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center, and Plastic surgery fellowship at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In 1997, Dr Kim opened his private practice in Beverly Hills. Dr. Kim is board-certifed in Plastic Surgery, and is an active member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons and California Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of American College of Surgeons. He has volunteered services to many developing countries including Nigeria, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, and Ethiopia. Recently, Dr. Kim was appointed to be a professor of surgery at Adama Medical Center and Medical College in Ethiopia. Nagasaki University School of Medicine, Nagasaki, Japan 1984.
