He has an extensive training in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As soon as he received his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2002 at Costa Rica, he started working as a physician assistant in the E.R. of the Max Peralta Hospital, which is part of the Costa Rica Social Security Fund (CCSS). A couple of years later he traveled to Mexico to get his degree in General Surgery from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2008. After obtaining his first degree graduate, he continued studying from 2008 to 2011 and earned his second degree from UNAM, this time in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery from the UNAM.
