About ISIS Chiropractic Centres - Northampton

We Have Over 25 Years Experience of Treating Back Pain, Neck Pain, Sciatica, Headaches and Sport Injuries. Why don't you chose Isis Chiropractic Centres (Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Northampton).

The Isis Chiropractic Centres was first established in 1986 and has since then seen over 40,000 new patients.

Our patients report a 76% reduction in pain after just 3 treatments and more than 94% of our patients are happy with their treatment!

We are very proud of the fact that the majority of these patients come to us following a recommendation from family, friends or their GP.

At Isis Chiropractic Centres we pride ourselves on our high standard of patient care and good results.

We were delighted that our standard of patient care and good results were acknowledged independently in 2007 by being awarded the Patients Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) for patient satisfaction. We were one of the first clinics in the UK to receive this award.

We were again awarded this in 2010, 2013 and 2016 which was also followed by the Clinical Management Quality Mark (CMQM) for clinical excellence.

Our chiropractic clinics are modern, well equipped and provide a comfortable welcoming atmosphere. We provide a comprehensive range of chiropractic services and have x-ray facilities and rehabilitation suites on site.

Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of nerve, muscle and join problems particularly relating to the spine and its effect of the nervous system. Symptoms include back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headache and sports injuries.

Activator Methods

We use Activator treatment in our clinics. It makes up one part of the different treatment methods that we can chose between when we decide your treatment plan.

Back Pain Treatment

Chiropractors are considered to be non-surgical back pain specilists. Back pain makes up 2/3 of our patients.

Child Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic treatment is safe for children. The treatment techniques used are adapted to suit the individual. Please read more on our website.

Chiropractic Geriatrics

Many of our patients are elderly. The oldest patient to date is 98 years old. Osteoporosis and osteo arthritis are not contraindications to treatment. With the help of x-rays we can sellect the best treatment method to siut your needs.

Chiropractor Consultation

Initial Consultation

This takes about 45 minutes. At your first visit, the chiropractor will take a full and detailed medical history and carry out a thorough physical, orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic examination. Other investigations might also be necessary, such as X-rays or MRI scans.

The chiropractor will do what is possible to ease symptoms, but treatment cannot be guaranteed at the first visit. This will depend on the nature of the problem, the acuteness of symptoms on the day and whether x-rays have been taken. If it is appropriate, the chiropractor will treat you.

Prenatal Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic treatment offers a safe, gentle, drug free alternative for the relief of discomfort during pregnancy and can play an important role in ensuring that your body and spine are functioning normally.

This can result in less pain for the mother to be and more room for the developing baby so that both mother and baby experience less physical and emotional stress.

Also, by reducing the stresses and strains on the joints and muscles, normal daily activities can be continued throughout the 9 months and many women find that labour is shorter and less painful.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation in combination with exercise is considered one of the most effective ways to treat both chronic and acute back and neck pain.

The chiropractors at ISIS have been trained in many different ways of using manipulation making it safe and effective for patients of all ages.

Sports Chiropractic

Many top sports teams and top athletes now have a Chiropractor as part of their medical care.

Biomechanical assessment

If there was a way for you to discover hidden weaknesses, prevent injury and improve your performance, would you be interested?

If that is the case, the Functional Movement Screening might be your answer.

Here at the ISIS Chiropractic Centres we perform Functional Movement Screenings to help us optimise your rehabilitation and exercise programme.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is  a  broad term used  to  differentiate “non-injection”  needling from the practice of “injection needling”. It commonly involves  the needling of myofascial trigger points using acupuncture needles to deactivate and help resolve trigger points.

Ergonomic Assessments and Advice

What Is Straighten Up UK?

The campaign encourages every family to adopt a simple three-minute exercise programme as part of their daily routine. This is about the same amount of time it takes to brush your teeth.

The exercises help improve posture, stabilise core muscle groups, enhance health and prevent spinal disability.

The ‘core’ back and stomach muscles, the deep muscles that stabilise the spine during movement, need to be strengthened and kept toned.

The exercise program is designed to be both effective and convenient, with all exercises done in a standing position and for those who cannot stand the exercises can be modified to be performed sitting. They can be undertaken by people of all ages with a .

Photomedicine - Therapeutic Laser Therapy

Laser therapy also called “cold laser” or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a technology, which has been proven to be remarkably safe, painless and effective in treating both acute injuries and chronic pain of various kinds. It has been shown to be an extremely useful addition to our treatment at our Chiropractic Centres.

It has been particularly helpful in stubborn, persistent, and “difficult-to-treat” conditions, including chronic back pain and neck pain, arthritis, plantar fasciitis and other joint and muscle pains.

The laser gives us the ability to provide you with an improved level of safe, non-invasive, drug free pain relief and accelerated healing of injuries.

We have pilates classes at our clinics. Please call for more information.

Posture Management

Spinal Rehabilitation - Neck and Back Injury

How do I correct my muscle imbalance?

After consulting your chiropractor, the gym staff will assess you individually to determine which particular muscles need training in order to help correct and prevent future problems. Your personal programme will include core stability exercises and target flexibility, endurance and co-ordination.

Trigger Point Therapy

Following injury to a muscle, a “myofascial trigger point” or Trigger Point (TP) may form. This is a small area within a muscle, which, after injury, can remain for many years (long after the original injury has healed), and may cause chronic pain and stiffness.

A trigger point is not an area of scar tissue from an injury. It is an area of increased sensitivity in the muscle. When pressure is applied to this point, pain is usually felt at a distant area, this is called .

Trigger points can develop in any skeletal muscle, they are found in a specific area of the muscle and each muscle give referred pain to a specific area.

To experienced hands a trigger point is felt as a nodule or taut band in the muscle or ligament.

As chiropractors we diagnose and treat trigger points on a regular basis and they can be a significant source of pain.

The Chiropractic Approach to these types of injuries is to use specific, gentle chiropractic adjustments to help restore spinal function. Followed by a rehabilitation exercise programme to further help you to recover.

Our clinic have developed a 10 week Whiplash Rehabilitation Course.  Using the best and most up to date research available, the programme has been designed to improve the quality of life for chronic whiplash patients.
