What a relief

5 50 Back Pain Treatment • Paid: £50

My lower back, hip and leg were all incredibly painful, and Alan really helped to ease the pain through adjustments and showed me what to do at home. I have been 3 weeks in a row, and the difference is huge. What a relief

Suffering from almost daily severe headaches

5 50 Chiropractor Consultation • Paid: £35

I was suffering from almost daily severe headaches. Tried everything from Physio, Osteopath, Homeopathy and Pain Management (Drugs) therapies. I knew the pain always originated from the neck upwards. I have now received 4 sessions from Laura at Morningside Chiropractic Clinic. This has resulted in a massive improvement with headaches now far less frequent and my neck has little or no pain. Great value and I now believe in "Healing Hands"

I chose Morningside Chiropractic Clinic after an internet search and favorable reviews from this site. I was able to get a 1st assessment and treatment appointment the day after my initial phone call. First impressions.....professional, caring, thorough and confidence in Laura. I would highly recommend this Clinic and receiving Chiropractor treatment as the first point of call for Back, Neck and Muscle Pain.

Mr Alan Cavanagh - Practice Director at Morningside Chiropractic Clinic

Mr Alan Cavanagh

Job Title:
  Practice Director
Specialisations:
  Chiropractic
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Alan Cavanagh is the founder and clinical director of Morningside Chiropractic, one of Edinburgh’s most established and respected chiropractic and sports massage clinics.

Born and raised in Dublin, Alan moved to Edinburgh in 2002 after qualifying as a chiropractor at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, University of Glamorgan. Early in his career, he gained broad experience working in busy clinical settings, developing a strong interest in evidence-based musculoskeletal care and long-term patient outcomes.

After several years in practice, Alan founded Morningside Chiropractic Clinic with a clear vision: to create a centre of excellence where patients could access high-quality chiropractic care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Under his leadership, the clinic has grown steadily and now houses Edinburgh’s largest chiropractic team, alongside experienced Sports and Remedial Massage Therapists. This team-based approach allows for internal referrals, shared clinical insight, and truly personalised care.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Alan has built a reputation for his thorough, patient-centred approach. His clinical focus includes the assessment, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and joint dysfunction. He places strong emphasis on accurate diagnosis, clear communication, and treatment plans designed to support long-term recovery rather than short-term symptom relief.

Alan’s journey into chiropractic was inspired by a deeply personal experience. As a young adult, he witnessed his father’s dramatic recovery from severe, long-standing back pain through chiropractic care—at a point when surgery had seemed inevitable. Seeing first-hand how effective, non-invasive treatment could restore quality of life left a lasting impression and shaped Alan’s commitment to helping others through safe, evidence-based chiropractic care.

Professionally, Alan is currently the only BUPA-registered chiropractors within the clinic and is a long-standing member of both the British Chiropractic Association and the Royal College of Chiropractors. He is committed to ongoing professional development and ensures that both his own clinical practice and the wider clinic operate in line with the latest standards in chiropractic and musculoskeletal healthcare.

Biography:

Vicky Pittman

is an experienced chiropractor with a strong background in sports therapy, movement-based rehabilitation, and pregnancy-related care. Originally from the South of England, Vicky has made Edinburgh her home since 2011 and is proud to be part of the local healthcare community.

Vicky graduated with a

Master of Chiropractic

 from the

, following an earlier

BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy

 from the

University of Hertfordshire

in 2004. This dual qualification provides her with a broad and well-rounded understanding of musculoskeletal health, injury management, and functional movement.

Before qualifying as a chiropractor, Vicky worked extensively with

elite artistic gymnasts

Since entering chiropractic practice, Vicky has developed a particular interest in

pre- and post-natal chiropractic care

. She has completed a range of postgraduate courses focused on pregnancy-related treatment and is passionate about supporting women through the physical changes of pregnancy and beyond. She is also trained in

She frequently integrates Pilates principles into her treatment plans to help patients improve strength, stability, mobility, and long-term resilience. Her aim is not only to relieve pain, but to empower patients with better movement strategies and confidence in their bodies.

A former

elite artistic gymnast

, Vicky competed at regional and national level for over a decade, winning medals both nationally and internationally. Her personal experience of injury and recovery through chiropractic care played a key role in inspiring her career path and continues to inform her empathetic, patient-focused approach.

Vicky is a proud member of the
