"After 2 months of treatment 95% of the pain has gone"

Treatment Received: Chiropractor Consultation
For the last 5 years, I have suffered from fairly severe neck and shoulder pain. This was diagnosed as arthritis, however, for the last 5 years my movements have been restricted and life has not been the same. In 2017 my son suggested I try Wigan Family Chiropractor Clinic, this was done and after a series of X-Rays, it was established that 3 vertebrae in my neck had moved to the left and were not in line. This resulted in the vertebrae pressing on the nerves to my neck and shoulder causing the pain. After 2 months of treatment 95% of the pain has gone and since then the balance has also gone, back to normal, well done Mike and many thanks.

"His treatment keeps the pain and discomfort to a minimum"

Treatment Received: Back Pain Treatment
I injured my back at age 12 and went to a chiropractor in NZ. I found this clinic when I came to live in Wigan, at the time it was being run by a New Zealander. Mike joined the practice and he has been keeping my back "in check" ever since. I am a little accident-prone so it's a never ending journey. I had a rear-end shunt in my car in Holland in 2008 causing slight whiplash which he treated and got me back to work quicker than any doctor. One doctor even sent me for an X-ray and they told me there was nothing wrong with my back. Chiropractic takes X-rays from different angles and it proved that there was a dislodged vertebra. This was quickly put right and since then every time I have had a problem Mike has been there for me. I am now 68 and having a problem with both my shoulders. He is working on them at present and they are improving. I broke my ankle for a third time last year and he x-rayed it after the hospital said it was healed (I knew it wasn't right as it was and still is misshapen) and proved it wasn't but the NHS will do nothing about it. Mike is working on it to keep the pain and discomfort to a minimum. He has also used acupuncture for my arthritis and it does help ease it.

I would recommend Mike and his team to anyone with any health problems. If he can't deal with it, he will have someone in his practice or know someone who can. The front desk staff are all lovely and friendly young ladies. I like his sign he has in his waiting room. "Chiropractic can heal most health problems, except rigamortis". I believe this to be very true.

Mr Mike Paull

Job Title:

Hello and welcome to our clinic. A native of Wigan myself, I am proud to say that I’ve probably treated at least half of the local population by now!

After ten years since first starting up Wigan Family Chiropractic Clinic, I still get the same enjoyment from helping someone feel better that I did right at the start, which is why I love being a Chiropractor. I have been very fortunate to treat so many people and see their health improve. I have found that my most enjoyable moments have been in helping people who have had long term muscle, joint and nerve problems, especially bad backs. Many of these people have been suffering for years and have come to believe that they “have to live with it”. Fortunately, Chiropractic care can often make a big difference for these people, as our patients will tell you!

Over the last two years I have developed a keen interest in athletics, and in 2012, I completed 9 triathlons, the Liverpool marathon, 3 different 10K road races, and a 5 K road race. Ive found that this has given me a lot of insight into how our athletic (and weekend athlete) patients become injured and how to help them.

I am always to happy to speak to prospective patients over the telephone, as many people like to get an idea of what we can do to help before coming in the clinic. If this sounds like you, please give me a ring.

Academic and postgraduate training:

1) (2003) Graduated from the University of Glamorgan - BSc with First Class Honors Chiropractic (four year full time degree programme).

2) (2009) Advanced treatment of the jaw, ribs, shoulders, arms, pelvis/hips, knees, feet and ankles - Anglo Euopean College of Chiropractic, taught br Dr Bill Heron, Chiropractor.

3) (2012) Problem solving the shoulder - specialist treatment of the shoulder girdle complex, taught by various Consultant Physiotherapy Specialists at the Bedford NHS trust.

4) (2013) Manual muscle testing - a window to the nervous system. Taught by Dr Ulrik Sandstrom - Chiropractor to the international athletes of the 2012 London Olympiad, Leicester Tigers, Chelsea FC football club, the Great Britain basketball team and many other elite athletes. My favourite course; this has taught me many ways to assess in infinte depth both athletic and non-athletic patients and enables me to really enhance the Chiropractic care I deliver.

Mr Chris Green MSc - Sports Injury Specialist M.D.S.T., S.R.T.

Hi, I’m Chris. I have been helping patients at Wigan Family Chiropractic Clinic since 1995, so I think I can safely say that whatever  you’ve injured, I can usually help you. As a Sports Injury Specialist, I use all of the very best of contemporary treatments, plus a wide range of advanced treatments learnt on the many courses I attend throughout the year. Additionally, I use a variety of techniques that Ive developed over my 20 or so years in practice.

Although I specialise in treating sports injuries, about half of my patients have acquired their injury in everyday life and so I treat all sorts of non-sports injuries that result from your job, hobby or life in general.

I have worked with many athletes from all types of sport; rugby, football, swimming, boxing, judo, running, cycling, fencing, bodybuilding, tennis, golf, basketball, field & track athletics, motorcycle racers, and many more.

When I’m not treating people at Wigan Family Chiropractic Clinic, I am usually working with local sports teams. I am in charge of St Judes ARLFC’s physiotherapy department, and recently was in charge of Leigh Rugby Clubs physiotherapy depatrment. I am registered with the British Athletes Commission to work with olympic level athletes (The Elite Athletes Programme) & England Rugby League. I have treated many professional rugby players from Wigan, St Helen’s, Bradford and most of the Super League! I have been on tour with several British domestic rugby teams, providing injury prevention/management, training and nutritonal support.

However, all my patients get the same level of quality treatment and help whether they are rugby stars or not! Chris is registered with AXA PPP, Westfield health, Health shield, Simply health, and is a member of the Sport and Remedial Therapies Council which is recognised by the British department of health.
