Ryde Chiropractic & Complementary Therapies is multi-disciplined Clinic that has been providing friendly and professional care in Ryde on the Isle of Wight since 2005.

Run by Roxanne Cussen, a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association and registered with the General Chiropractic Council, the clinic not only offers Chiropractic treatment to people of all ages but also a wide variety of complementary therapies, including: Sports and Remedial Massage, Acupuncture, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, Cupping, Counselling, Hypnotherapy and EMDR therapy, as well as small classes and one to one sessions in Pilates, Yoga and Meditation.

Conditions such as Back, neck and Joint Pain, Arthritis, Sciatica, Muscle pain, Whiplash injuries, Sporting injuries, Tinnitus, Sinusitis, Headaches/Migraines, Stress and Posture related problems and much more have been successfully treated using the Complementary Therapies on offer.

The Clinic is open 7 days a week (not all therapies available on every day) with morning, afternoon and evening appointments available.

The Clinic is conveniently located in George Street in Ryde, with easy access to a free car park, bus stops, train stations and the town centre.

Ryde Chiropractic and Complementary Therapies is owned and managed by Roxanne Cussen, a certified McTimoney Chiropractor.
Roxanne was born on the Isle of Wight where she attended Niton Primary School, Solent Middle School and Cowes High School before moving to Wales for 3 years to study at the University of Glamorgan. She graduated in 2000 with a First Class Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Applied Sports Science.
On finishing University, Roxanne was drawn towards a career in Chiropractic, and specifically the McTimoney technique, having received the treatment herself following a bad fall from a horse. She enrolled at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon in 2001 and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Chiropractic.

In March 2005 Roxanne, along with a fellow graduate, opened the Clinic in Ryde and she hasnt looked back. Since qualifying, Roxanne has continued to develop her skills attending various seminars and courses, with a specific interest in Soft Tissue techniques and the treatment of headaches and migraines.
Roxanne is a professional member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA) and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), the governing body that regulates all Chiropractors in the UK. Roxanne is also the only consultant Chiropractor on the Isle of Wight for Headache Clinics UK.

Miss Beth Caws

Beth Caws is an associate at Ryde Chiropractic and Complementary Therapies and joined them as a certified McTimoney Chiropractor in 2014.

Beth was born on the Isle of Wight and attended Gurnard Primary School, Solent Middle School and Cowes High School. She completed AS Levels at Brockenhurst College in the New Forest before going on to gain qualifications in Indian Head massage and Reflexology. Beth had wanted to be a chiropractor since she was at high school as she and her family had McTimoney Chiropractic and found this treatment interested her so much she would undertake the degree.

Before starting the McTimoney Chiropractic course in Abingdon, Oxfordshire she enrolled onto their access course which gained her a qualification in ITEC Swedish massage. After this she completed the Masters degree in McTimoney Chiropractic and graduated in 2013 as an MChiro.

During her years at The McTimoney College of Chiropractic she worked as a Remedial Massage therapist at Cowes Chiropractic Clinic. This has helped Beth to gain a good understanding of the musculo-skeletal system and feels that the two therapies work very well together.

Beth is a professional member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA) and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), the governing body that regulates all Chiropractors in the UK.

Mr Jake Brougham

Jake is a graduate from the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM), holding a BTEC level 5 qualification in Clinical Sports & Remedial Massage. This is the highest qualification for sports & remedial massage in the UK. Jake is also a proud member of both the Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage (ISRM) and the Sports Massage Association (SMA). These require Jake to frequently attend workshops and seminars, making sure his knowledge and practical skills are kept up to date. As well as his clinic work, Jake is also the sports and remedial massage therapist for Newport County Association Football Club. Jake has a passion and 

 to give each patient a comfortable, professional and unique treatment experience. Freya offers complementary therapies at the Ryde clinic, and treats many clients on referral basis from Roxanne’s Chiropractic treatment, as well as providing a range of Holistic, Sports, Massage and Beauty Therapies. Freya has worked in many salons and spas across the Island and in Hampshire, and is experienced in many treatments.

Freya Woodford was born on the Island, and studied at the Isle of Wight College, gaining a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Theatrical & Media Make-up in 1994, and a further Diploma in Sports Therapy in 1995.

Freya also studied and gained three exercise qualifications, YMCA Circuit & Weight Training, YMCA/RSA Exercise to Music and The Keep Fit Association Teaching certificate. She regularly attends training and first aid sessions, and currently teaches a class of keep fit, exercise movement and dance.

Ms Christine Smyth

Christine is a fully qualified professional acupuncturist with a first class honours degree from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the largest governing body for acupuncturists in the UK. She is also a fully qualified practising NADA-UK (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) ear acupuncturist. Christine offers a professional and confidential service and is registered with the Isle of Wight Council.
Christine offers the following therapies: acupuncture, facial cosmetic acupuncture and dermarolling, ear acupuncture, electro acupuncture, Chinese cupping massage, Tui na massage, gua sha, moxibustion and Indian head massage.

Christine practises integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture. She has lived on the Island for 25 years.

Miss Anne Osborn

Anne has a great deal of experience with her own practice and with teaching methods to help people relax, unwind and let go of stress.

She became a Reiki practitioner in 1996 and later went on to become a Reiki Master Teacher in 2010, she followed this up with Karuna Reiki (Compassionate Reiki) in 2012. Anne offers deeply relaxing and healing Reiki Treatments as well as Traditional Usui Reiki Training at levels 1, 2 and 3 for those that would like to practice for themselves.
In 2005 Anne completed her Certificate in Education to become a Further and Higher Education Teacher and spent a number of years teaching Art subjects before doing her Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2009. She now offers calming and soothing Yoga classes to help people soften and relax.
In 2012 Anne completed her Meditation Teacher Diploma and started to offer guided meditation classes using visualisation, breathing techniques and methods to focus the mind. Following this Anne developed a deep interest in mindfulness methods and went on to train as a Zen Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher with Zenways, completing her training in 2015. 
Anne offers 8-week courses in Zen Meditation and Mindfulness for Wellbeing and Insight, which can help you to cope better with stress, overcome anxiety and deal with pain.
