About Braintree Chiropractic and Back Pain Clinic

The Braintree Chiropractic and Back Pain Clinic opened in 2002. The clinic here is very busy, we offer the residents Essex and Suffolk including; Braintree, Colchester, Sudbury, Coggeshall, Dunmow, Chelmsford and the surrounding areas quality care delivered by highly trained and professional staff.

Each patient is assigned to a chiropractor to provide you with the best continuity of care. This allows you to get to know your chiropractor and allows your chiropractor to gain a greater understanding of you as an individual.  Above all, we realise that everybody is different thus all our practitioners are equipped to adjust the management of your care to suit you as a person, not just a collection of symptoms.

In January 2008 we were awarded the Patient Partnership Quality Award for all of our Clinics. This is awarded by the College of Chiropractors for continuing excellence in meeting patient expectations.  We strive to provide the best chiropractors in Braintree so that you have the best opportunity to achieve your goals.

Our clinic offers a friendly atmosphere with time and understanding for all our patients. You are the most important part of our clinic and your health and well being is of paramount importance to us.  We are here to make your experience of Chiropractic a positive and beneficial one. Good value for money and straight forward

4 50 Chiropractor Consultation

Friendly staff that went into detail on what they could do for my hip injury and what could be causing it. Laid out how much this would cost and how they would go forward after a review after six seasons. All paid for through my private insurance which made payments very straight forward. Good value for money.

I reviewed all the clinics nearby and went for this one as they were the first to reply to my inquiry with a lot more details than the others. Has limited parking but there is a car park nearby. Clinic is in a normal looking house and could easily be missed if you weren't on the look out for its sign. Friendly staff that puts you at ease.

Back Pain Treatment

All our chiropractors are highly trained in the management and treatment of back and neck pain.  They have all completed Masters Degrees in Chiropractic, studying for a minimum of 4 years full-time at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth.  They are all registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and are members of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and the College of Chiropractors.

 

Chiropractor Consultation

At your first visit your Chiropractor will undergo a thorough history & physical examination with you.  This will be followed by a discussion in plain English about what is wrong and what can be done about it.  

If treatment is necessary your chiropractor will advise you of what treatment can be used and why it is suitable for you as an individual.

 

Spinal Manipulation

Medical X-Ray

Our clinics are equipped with digital x-ray facilities.  Your chiropractor is qualified to produce x-rays of specific areas of the body if clinically necessary.  Our clinics and practitioners comply to the Ionising Radiation Regulations.

Biomechanical assessment

All our chiropractors conduct a biomechanical assessment of patients during the initial consultation.  The findings of which will be discussed with you to help you understand the nature of your problem.

 

Dry Needling

All our chiropractors are trained in the use of Dry Needling.  This type of therapy is available from our chiropractors as part of your management plan or as a stand alone treatment.  Please discuss your individual needs with your chiropractor during your initial consultation.

 

Posture Management

All our chiropractors conduct ergonomic assessments of patients where necessary.  This type of therapy is available from our chiropractors as part of your management plan.  Due to the rising number of people with work/desk related postural issues this is something we tackle everyday.

 

Spinal Rehabilitation - Neck and Back Injury

All our chiropractors are trained in rehabilitation for neck and back pain.  This type of therapy is available from our chiropractors as part of your management plan.  In some cases our chiropractors may suggest onward referral if you require care outside of their remit of care.

 

Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation

All our chiropractors are trained in sports and postural rehabilitation.  This type of therapy is available from our chiropractors as part of your management plan.

Mark Gurden MSc(Chrio) DC PhD (Chiropractor)

Mark Gurden qualified from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 2000 after a full 5 year course of study. He is very experienced and works in both our Braintree and Stansted clinics.

Mark’s interests lie with the treatment of acute and chronic conditions and rehabilitation of patients over the long term with the use of exercise and self-help. Mark is also a member of the British Chiropractic Sports Council.

Mark is also very active in promoting the Chiropractic Profession and regularly attends local meetings with the NHS, local GP’s and other professions to facilitate Chiropractic Care in the area. He has recently worked with the Department of Health on the development of a national back & neck pain care pathway. 

Recently, Mark was awarded a Fellowship to the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and named Chiropractor of the year 2012.  He currently holds a position on the BCA Professional Standards and NHS Committees, and is a governor at the internationally accredited Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC).

Philip Jones BSc(Hons) MChiro DC (Chiropractor)

Biography:

Originally from Southampton Phil has now settled in Essex and works as a full time Chiropractor in our Braintree and Colchester clinics.  

Since qualifying from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic Phil has worked in both private and NHS practice across North East Essex.  He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA), College of Chiropractors (CoC) and British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS).  

Phils main focus is to provide treatment and rehabilitation for acute and chronic conditions whilst working with his patients to help them manage their own condition using self-help exercises where possible.  As well as providing quality Chiropractic care to all ages, he is also trained in the use of therapeutic ultrasound and Medical Acupuncture.  

Prior to becoming a Chiropractor Phil gained a 1st class honors degree in Sport and Exercise Science focusing on sports physiology, psychology, biomechanics and the integration of these to improve performance.  He is trained in the use of many sports analysis techniques from lab based studies to pitch side analysis.  He has a particular interest in the biomechanics of sport and exercise with ability assess an individual and provide advice as to how health and performance can be improved.

Outside of work he is a keen swimmer and enjoys any watersport activities.

Marcel Morelli MSc(Chiro) DC (Chiropractor)

Marcel Morelli is originally from South Africa and studied at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic for 5 years. He graduated in 2000 and worked within a large Chiropractic clinic in Southend-on-Sea, until he joined forces to set up Chiro Health Ltd with Mark Gurden.

Marcel is a keen sportsman and has competed internationally in the field of Judo. He has a special interest in sports injuries and often travels to international competitions to offer Chiropractic care to sportsmen and women competing in many different disciplines.

Marcel is also very involved with the North East Faculty of the College of Chiropractors which arranges further training and courses for Chiropractors to continue to learn and develop as well as to maintain high standards of Chiropractic care for their patients.

Will is originally from Oxfordshire and qualified from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic.  He initially qualified in massage and went onto become a chiropractor after seeing the benefits it offered to some of his clients.

He speaks fluent French after spending his formative years in France and has now settled in Halstead with his wife and two children.

Will has a wide interest in patient care and has a special interest in rehabilitation and the care of sports injuries.  He currently works in our Braintree and Colchester clinics.

Dan qualified from the University of Hertfordshire with a 1st class honours degree in Physiotherapy after a full 3 years of study.  Before joining the clinic, Dan spent a number of years gaining experience in the NHS working in a wide range of clinical areas including stroke rehabilitation, paediatrics, mental health, orthopaedics and musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy.  Having experienced nearly all aspects of Physiotherapy, Dan has been provided with the knowledge and experience to provide all clients with a high quality, holistic service.

Dans interests lie within the treatment of all acute and chronic conditions whilse utilising his clinical experience to achieve optimal results and satisfaction for all clients.  Dan is also qualified in sports massage.

He is a keen sportsman and for this has created an interest in rehabilitation and care of sports related injuries.  Dan is also a registered member of the health professions council.
