In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Young has also completed a Masters degree in Paediatrics; worked as Audit Officer for the British Chiropractic Association, assessing chiropractic clinical practice and standards in the UK; and served as the inaugural chair of the College of Chiropractors' Paediatric Faculty. In 1999, she was elected as a Fellow of the College of Chiropractors for whom she currently serves as Director of Research, co-ordinating and overseeing much of the clinically based research within the UK. She is also external examiner for the MSc in Paediatrics at the University of Bournemouth.

He then completed a further year's pre-registration training to obtain his DC. He has published over two-dozen articles in professional and biomedical journals and is currently preparing undergraduate medical texts on biophysics and magnetic resonance imaging and has been Editor of the international peer reviewed journal Clinical Chiropractic for the last twelve years. In 1999, he was elected as an inaugural Fellow of the College of Chiropractors, and in the same year started work on a clinically-based doctorate in gastric neuropathophysiology through the University of Glamorgan. At this time, he also became the first chiropractor to be elected as a Member of the Expert Witness Institute.
