About Greenacres Chiropractic Centre

Greenacres Chiropractic Centre is positioned to the north of Peterborough in the village of Glinton.

We treat most joint problems affecting the back, neck, pelvis, arms, legs and also headaches. Treatment is gentle and aims to reduce pain and stiffness and to restore function, returning you to health and an active life.

We aim to provide a friendly yet professional service to our patients. Acknowledging that our patients are most probably in pain and are anxious, makes that first interaction one of the most important, so we take our time to listen, explain and answer questions where we can. Following the thorough assessment we design a treatment regime bespoke to the individual and draw from chiropractic, soft tissue, cryotherapy, western acupuncture and Kinesio taping techniques.

Chiropractic

Activator Methods

Using a gadget that resembles an amalgum gun used by a dentist, this device delivers a measured force to a joint usually in the neutral position avoiding any sudden movements.

Back Pain Treatment

Chiropractic is focused on caring for backs and indeed all joints of the body.

Child Chiropractic Adjustment

Similar gentle techniques as used in adults but adapted for the young and developing skeleton.

Chiropractor Consultation

The initial consultation is designed to assess your problem, diagnose what is wrong and to provide a safe treatment regime bespoke to you. It takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours and includes a health screen, orthopaedic and neurological tests, explanation of what is found, description of treatment and the first treatment session. Subsequent sessions take 30 mins on average.

Prenatal Chiropractic Care

Gentle techniques applied to the pregnant back and pelvis helps to relieve aches and pains often experienced during pregnancy.

Spinal Manipulation

Often preconceived as a violent thrust across a joint, this is not necessarily so. Such adjustments  are rarely used within Greenacres Chiropractic Clinic but spinal manipulation techniques are used. (Diversified, Sacro Occipital Technique(SOT), Activator).

Physiotherapy

Biomechanical assessment

During the initial assessment a thorough biomechanical assessment is undertaken including orthopaedic and neurological tests to establish function and degree of injury.  Often some of these tests are repeated at each visit.

Dry Needling

This technique is used in conditions which affect the soft tissues surrounding joints, predominantly muscles. This is a form of western acupuncture.

Posture Management

Combining chiropractic treatment, home exercises and talking about common poor postures, we manage posture in combination with our patients.

Trigger Point Therapy

Often referred to as knots within the muscles. Trigger points can be relieved by steady gentle but firm pressure, followed by quick release. Often perceived as feeling bruise like or hard nodules when touched.

Biography:

Bridget Bath, Doctor of Chiropractic, qualified in 2002 from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a BSc(hons)chiro 2:1. Bridget then moved to Brecon and opened her own clinic where she worked until 2010 when she moved to Peterborough.  "I discovered chiropractic as a patient initially and was so impressed with the results I had to learn more. I feel this makes me particularly empathetic with my patients as I have been in their shoes, not knowing quite what to expect, in pain and a little apprehensive. Chiropractic can be very gentle and using techniques learnt both at university and through post graduate training I offer care for all the family, young and old alike."
