About John's Green Chiropractic Clinic

Many people are looking for a more natural approach to their healthcare. Chiropractic uses no drugs or surgery and is extremely safe. Published research is now validating the results that chiropractic patients have experienced over the last 100 years. Chiropractic is a highly cost-effective health strategy for both patients and third-party payers. Today's chiropractors are highly-qualified professionals who are committed to helping individuals of all ages achieve improved health and function. Chiropractic care is aimed at the detection and correction of abnormal joint movement and position. Although chiropractic care is often focused on the spine , care frequently involves treatment of other areas of the neuromusculoskeletal system. After thorough examination and analysis, chiropractors use carefully controlled and directed pressure (adjustments) to restore proper spinal and other joint function and thereby reducing interference to the nervous system (interference to the nervous system can include leg pain, arm pain, headaches, altered blood pressure and balance problems along with many more, the nervous system is the control centre for everything in the body). Chiropractors also recognise the importance of nutrition, exercise and other lifestyle factors on overall health and will often give patients advice on these topics. Doctors of Chiropractic undergo a minimum 4-year full-time university education with an emphasis on neurology, diagnostic imaging, physiology, and spinal adjusting. In many cases the actual course is five years to Masters level. Most major health insurers cover chiropractic care, but please check with your provider for any terms associated with your particular policy.

Dr Michael Mahony

Job Title:
  Practice Director
Specialisations:
  Chiropractic
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Michael Mahony (Chiropractor). I graduated with a Masters of Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in the UK. One of the main focuses of the curriculum was finding the cause of problems and taking it away rather than treating the symptom (very often pain). During my studies I completed a thesis outlining the most effective treatments in managing low back pain of acute and chronic onset. Since leaving the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic my main area of study and interest has been in how lifestyle (diet, exercise and stress levels) affects our general health. I have completed many courses in this field and feel it is an area many of us can improve on in order to be healthier. Since 2007 I have been working in a Chiropractic clinic in Carlow gaining valuable experience in treating all kind of patients from sport injuries to more chronic illness such as arthritis. I recently opened the John Street Chiropractic clinic in Kilkenny and look forward to treating and helping many people there.
