Chiropractor Daryl Coyne graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of South Wales in 2001 with a BSc. Hons degree in Chiropractic.
Daryl has been a full-time Consultant Senior Chiropractor with the European Tour Physiotherapy Unit and Performance Institute for the last 10 years and has been Deputy Director of the European Tour Physio Unit for the last 6 years.
During that time, he has worked at over 250 tournaments on the European Tour including the last 10 British Opens, Seve Trophies and Solheim Cups. He has been the consultant chiropractor and part of the European Team at the 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 Ryder Cups. He was worked with professional golfers from all over the world on the European Tour, USPGA tour, Asian and Australasian Tours and has travelled extensively throughout these regions.
His current interest is reducing injury risk and developing a platform to build on with regard to strength and power training. He is currently doing an MSc in strength and conditioning. He has presented papers on golf biomechanics and strength & conditioning for golf.
Daryl has extensive post graduate training and is certified in Physical Fitness and Conditioning for Sport. This emphasized the need to screen all players and promote exercise prescription to achieve a base level of fitness.
He is also certified in Functional Movement Screening, Selective Functional Movement Screening, Kinesiotaping and Cognitive Functional Therapy for persistent pain. This post graduate training has changed his philosophy and mode of practice and he promoting the need for hands on therapy and exercise for health and performance.
Along with sports performance, he has a special interest in tendinopathy, persistent/chronic pain and exercise promotion for health. He is registered with his governing body, The Chiropractic Association of Ireland.
