Hinterland Chiropractic

I was born in Melbourne but have grown up in Queensland from a young age. I share a huge passion for surfing, martial arts and mountain biking. I was first introduced to Chiropractic when I was 11 years old. Our family moved from Victoria to Brisbane where I developed Asthma. After seeing a number of doctors I was referred to Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. After spending a full day in the hospital, I was told by my doctor that I was going to have to take three different drugs for the rest of my life to deal with my condition. I was fortunate that my parents looked at alternative care, so my Dad began taking me to his chiropractor. After 3 or 4 visits my asthma had eased and before long had almost completely gone. I haven’t had to worry about it since. What was my first perception of Chiropractic? I thought Chiropractors were asthma doctors but soon came to realise the full advantages of chiropractic care after diving into 3ft of water which caused all sorts of issues with my spine particularly my neck. While becoming a chiropractor at RMIT University in Melbourne, I worked for 3.5 years in the spinal unit at the Austin Hospital. I dealt with paraplegics and quadriplegics. Working with people who have major spinal injuries and trauma really struck home to me and the importance of a healthy functioning spinal nerve system. This passion for health and health care developed into a way of life. I have been a chiropractor for over 20 years. Hinterland Chiropractic was my first clinic after working in Beaudesert and Oxenford. After managing over five different practices in Queensland I decided to focus on my baby, Hinterland Chiropractic. I have been heavily involved with the profession throughout my career and was involved with the Chiropractic Association of Australia. My passion was helping others become aware of the benefits of a healthy Spine and Nerve system, so I became the spokesperson for the profession originally for Queensland and later the Gold Coast region. My diverse background within the Chiropractic profession and my passion for health and health care gives our clinic a unique and broad based approach in helping everyone of our patients achieve optimal health and wellbeing for themselves. I am reminded daily that without your health, you have nothing, so sharing my years of knowledge with folks, caring for their health and their families is what I do best.
