About Canberra Spine Centre

Our Canberra team consists of highly qualified practitioners and friendly support staff. At Canberra Spine Centre our natural therapists believe that there are three distinct stages in helping a patient to attain a high level of wellness.

Relief Care

The goal at this stage is to assist you in eliminating or reducing the majority of your discomfort, stabilising your initial complaint and health concerns.

Visits are frequent and regular, normally two to three per week.

Corrective Care

Our object here is to correct the poor biomechanics that have resulted in your spinal problems, together we address the muscular and ligamentous imbalances, improve spinal function and promote healing of soft tissues.

Visits are less frequent, normally weekly or fortnightly.

Wellness Care

The majority of clients at Canberra Spine Centre choose wellness or supportive care for themselves and their families. Maintaining a proper functioning spine and nervous system may arrest small problems before they deteriorate and allow your body to express itself fully.

Clients will often choose a frequency of care that is consistent with the physical and mental stresses in their life; the choice is yours, whether it is monthly, fortnightly or weekly.

Jon Powderly - at Canberra Spine Centre

Jon Powderly

Biography:
Dr Jon Powderly has always had a passion for sport, exercise and health. It was a gymnastics injury as a teenager that first prompted Jon to visit a chiropractor. The impact of this experience led to him becoming a chiropractor himself. After a foray into physical education teaching, then working alongside physiotherapists for 12 months in a large Melbourne hospital. Dr Powderly began studying chiropractic at R.M.I.T. in Melbourne in 1990. After completing the 5-year full time degree, Dr Powderly graduated in 1995 with the ‘clinical excellence’ award for his work in student clinic. The next 5 years were spent working in over 20 different clinics in 5 different countries. While living in Barcelona, he set up a volunteer clinic in a drug-rehabilitation centre that is still running to this day thanks to the great work of local chiropractors.
