The Skincare Clinic

After completing a BSc in Biological Sciences at Plymouth University, Heidi returned home to Witney in 1999 to join OICB to help research and develop a Skincare brand. The business interested her so much that she decided to train as a Beauty Therapist. She furthered her level of qualifications in 2001 to obtain International diplomas in CIBTAC and ITEC whilst working as a beauty therapist building up her client base ready to start a new business, The Skincare Clinic and to start teaching at OICB. In 2006 she upgraded her qualifications and took her CIDESCO Post Graduate Diploma in Beauty Therapy. She is now a senior tutor and is involved in over-seeing the college curriculum, training new teachers and is an active salon manager of The Skincare Clinic. "Time has gone so quickly since I started The Skincare Clinic in 2003, it has been so challenging and so rewarding. Along with working as a therapist and managing our Clinic girls, I have enjoyed the challenge of teaching at OICB and in an FE college. Some of my proudest moments have been reaching the finals of the British Beauty Awards in 2009 for 'Retail Salon of the Year' and for continuing to reach 'Decleor Gold Salon Awards' for high standards for the past 8 years. My passion for beauty and my drive for high standards keeps me motivated and drives the business forward. The team we have now work so hard to make the clients' experience positive, we have fun and we enjoy working together. I love to see our girls grow in skills and confidence as they work with us, it makes my job very rewarding" quotes Heidi.

After graduating from college, Gail qualified as a hair and beauty therapist in 1997. Following her passion for beauty therapy, Gail enjoyed a varied career, working in salons and spas as a senior therapist followed by 9 years in spa management. Feeling she had a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with new students, Gail moved to Oxfordshire and joined the OICB teaching team in 2011. She combines teaching with working part time as a senior therapist in The Skincare Clinic, specialising in IPL hair removal, advanced skin rejuvenation and chemical peel treatments. "It's great to still work in the salon as well as teach as it keeps me very up to date with new technology and I thoroughly enjoy still carrying out treatments. I have built up a really nice clientèle but there's always room for more!" says Gail.

Emma joined the Skincare Clinic in 2008, as a Modern Apprentice and studied NVQ level 2 and 3 part time at OICB whilst working on reception and joined the therapy team as a full time beauty therapist in 2010. "I grew up in Witney and studied GCSEs and A-Levels sat Henry Box school. After leaving school I went on to work at one of the local banks. However, in 2008 I decided I would like to embark on a career in beauty therapy, having a passion for beauty. "I have learnt so much about beauty therapy by learning on the job, and now work as a Therapist performing a wide range of the treatments. My favourite treatments would have to be pedicures, facials and electrolysis, although I enjoy everything else as well. I look forward to the rest of my career in beauty, meeting lots of new clients and hopefully one day becoming a senior therapist!" quotes Emma.
