She inherited a passion for beauty and fashion from her mother, who practiced as a beautician in her own salon for approximately 25 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Medical Imaging, with a major in radiology, from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. After completing her undergraduate studies, Behnaz completed her apprenticeship and worked as a radiographer in different hospitals in Tehran. While working for the Iranian Society of Radiology, Behnaz studied Japanese and travelled to Japan for a radiology training course. Behnaz completed her training in radiology, ultra sound, radioisotope, radiotherapy, MRI and CT scanning in Japan. After moving to New Zealand, Behnaz obtained the following qualifications. She founded Mermaid Health and Beauty Clinic in September 2010. The clinic provides a wide range of treatments to clients with a specialisation in skin treatments and makeup.

She loves the idea of making people feel good and look their best. One could describe her as a perfectionist and she has a true passion for the art of beauty therapy. She is also an excellent massage therapist specialising in body therapy, Swedish massage and hot stone massage.
