Ingemar graduated from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987. He worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before entering general practice in 1991.
He immigrated to NZ in 2000 and has a private medical practice in Manly. He is a fellow of the Royal College of NZ General practitioners as well as being a fellow of the NZ college of Appearance Medicine.
