As a nationally recognized and fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, Dr. Nilesh A. Patel founded Texas Bariatric Specialists to establish a holistic weight loss practice focused on delivering long-term weight loss solutions for his patients.

Dr. Patel specializes in surgical weight loss procedures including Lap Band, Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Gastric Band, and the revision of failed weight loss surgery which have resulted in over 2,500 surgeries that have exceeded the national average of successful weight loss management.

Recognition as a “Centers of Excellence” surgeon by the American Society of Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Surgery, and the Surgical Review Corporation.

Brings a wealth of both knowledge and experience to Texas Bariatric Specialists. Having upheld American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence standards and government guidelines at multiple hospitals concurrently in the New Jersey/New York region, Houston has maintained and exceeded expectations at every level of bariatric hospital management.

Lanfair received her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences, with option in Dietetics from Oklahoma State University and completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of the Incarnate Word. During her undergraduate work she focused on her love of research and worked under Dr. Barbara Stoecker, RD, PhD aiding in research projects.
