Job Title: Doctor Biography: Dr. Chapa is a well respected bariatric surgeon at CIMA Monterrey Hospital. He has performed over 3000 surgeries, the majority of which are either lap band or gastric bypass procedures. Dr. Chapa began his education at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León, where he graduated with a degree in medicine. He continued his education, completing an internship at the Hospital Universitario de Monterrey and a residency in general surgery at the Hospital Altas Especialidades IMSS #25. He not only serves as an undergraduate professor at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León, the Instituto Technológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and the Universidad de Monterrey and a graduate professor at the Christus Muguerza and San Jose TEC hospitals, he regularly attends international conferences regarding bariatric surgery and nutrition.
