Dr Azmy Birdi

Biography:

Dr Azmy Birdi (Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and Fellow of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) is a practicing doctor with a special interest in Women’s Health.

Her 25 years of medical practice has led her to practice additional ways of alleviating pain. As a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), she is convinced that acupuncture has an important role to play in modern healthcare.  As a doctor trained in Western medicine she can assess the health needs of the patient and present an informed and balanced view about the role and value of acupuncture therapy.

Treatment is selected for the patient based on Dr Birdi’s experience of its effectiveness.

In her own words –“I am constantly striving to provide the best possible treatment and care for my patients. My decision to learn acupuncture came out of a desire to provide more options for patients who may not be able to take conventional treatment or who have tried it and still have symptoms”.

Dr Birdi undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology followed by General Practice and has a special interest in Women’s Health.

She is also a post graduate trainer for the Oxford Deanery since 2003. As a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) she believes that acupuncture has an important role to play in holistic health care and patients must be empowered in order for them to be involved in decisions about their own treatment.

At AZ Acupuncture, the best equipment is used in order to ensure client comfort during and after treatment.
All treatments are always researched and discussed very carefully with the patient before the treatment is started.
