The Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Clinic is run by Mairead Fahy. Mairead had 15 years Nursing experience in all areas of nursing before going on to train in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She has been a practitioner now of Acupuncture and TCM since 2002. In Maireads clinic, each treatment is tailored to providing a combination of western and eastern therapies, with you the person in mind. Each person is treated with individualised care and attention giving a totally holistic and patient centred approach. Mairead uses a combination of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Chinese Massage, Electro- acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping Therapy and Diet and Lifestyle advice from the Chinese and Western Medical models, so that you the individual is given the most holistic and personalised care possible. Mairead specialises in Fertility problems, Gynaecological problems,Pain relief and Migraine treatment, plus many more ailments.

She has also recently completed some study in Japan with Meiji University of integrated Medicine, and is happy to add Shonishin to her skills. Shonishin is a Japanese technique especially for children. It uses no needles but uses methods of stroking and tapping with non invasive tools called "chokishin" and ""yoneyama". It can be used on children as young as 1 month old, up to children of 10 or 11 years old. It can treat Sleep disorders, Digestive conditions, Anxiety, Crying, Allergies, and Behavioural problems among other issues. The most important thing is it is quick, painless and children absolutely love it!

She also offers Cosmetic Acupuncture Japanese style, which includes full body acupuncture, 15 minute Facial Massage and Facial Acupuncture. Japanese facial Acupuncture uses only the highest quality fine sterile disposable needles, which because of their size, do not hurt! The treatment can reduce fine lines, lift jowls, reduce bags under the eyes, while at the same time treating any underlying complaints you may have. The Japanese like to call this bringing back your "shining smile".
