Dublin Cosmetic Surgery Centre

I am very pleased with the results and overall experience.Gemma, Dublin, 28 Sep 12

Excellent service from start to finish. After attending 4 consultations with various surgeons in Dublin city centre, Dr. Skanderowics emerged as the most genuine, experienced and frankly-speaking surgeon amidst the plethora of slick salesmanship pitches I heard elsewhere. His forthright and honest manner and gentle, reassuring conduct on the day of the operation made me feel I was in safe hands. 3 years later and I am very pleased with the results and overall experience.

Eyelid surgery
Ageing around the eyes is associated with the formation of excess skin folds and eye bags. Eye bags are especially seen in the inner or medial parts of the upper eyelid and along the length of the lower eyelid. The aim of eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), otherwise known as eye bag removal is to reduce the excess eyelid skin and to flatten/remove the eye bags. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can be carried out separately on the upper or lower eyelids or both upper and lower eyelids together. The Dublin Cosmetic Surgery Centre has successfully performed eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) on many women and men in over 20 years.

Many people in their early to mid 30s begin to notice a tired appearance around their eyes. This is most commonly attributed to a fullness or puffiness of their eyelids, caused by the accumulation of excess skin and/or fat. This fat is independent of body weight. This condition can be remedied with cosmetic eyelid surgery. Cosmetic eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) can help restore a more youthful and rested appearance to the eyes. This cosmetic surgery procedure involves removing excessive skin or fatty tissue of the eyelids. Upper blepharoplasty opens the upper eyelid. Lower blepharoplasty involves tightening the wrinkled skin under the eyes, and removing the bulging heaviness under the eyes, which is usually done without an external skin incision. Laser resurfacing or chemical peel to tighten the skin often accompanies blepharoplasty. Anti-wrinkle injections are often used to reduce wrinkles as well to remove crows feet and frown lines. In the vast majority cases general anaesthesia is used. However, in some cases, local anaesthesia with intravenous sedation may be used. Patients return to work within a week generally, and the cosmetic surgery procedures provide long-term improvement over years.

EYELIDCORRECTION (BLEPHAROPLASTY) The eyes are the mirror of your face. Excessskin and folds on the upper eyelids or baggy eyelids give the impression ofpermanent fatigue. Upper and/or lower eyelid surgery can return that opensparkling regard, that you once knew. This sort of procedure isactually in the “hit parade” of the 3 most frequently carried outplastic surgery operations. Whathappens?Upper eyelidsDuring the operation, the surgeon removes the excess skin which is draggingyour eyelids down. This is done through a fine incision in your natural crease, which leaves an almost invisible scar. Lower eyelidsBags under the eyes are often caused by pockets of fat and are usuallyaccompanied by an excess of skin. The operation involves removing the fat bagsand excess skin through an incision made just under the eyelashes or atthe inner side of the eyelid, which means that there is no visiblescar.  AnestheticMost of the time a local anesthetic  issufficient. Although, it is possible to sedate a nervous patient, and ifnecessary put them completely to sleep. RecoveryAfter surgery, you will need to rest forapproximately one hour before returning to the hotel. You will not be able todrive immediately following surgery. Some medication will be prescribed(Ibuprofen and paracetamol) which you will be able to take in case of pain. Theday following surgery, you can expect your eyes to be swollen and watery, inaddition your vision may be blurred and reduced. Bruising should subside aftera week or so (for upper eyelids), but can take slightly longer when both upperand lower eyelids have been operated on. It is advisable to wear sunglasses when you go outside, and indoors ice-packsand gel masks can help to sooth the eyes and reduce swelling (although notscientifically proven). Your scars will be slightly
Eye Lift €1300  -  €2200
Eyes are the mirror of the face. Drooping eyelids and heavy bags can make you seem older and tired. Upper and/or lower eyelid surgery can restore that fresh, sparkling appearance you once had. Eyelid correction is actually one of the three most frequently carried out procedures in plastic surgery. During the operation, the surgeon removes excess skin and fatty tissue via a fine incision in your natural eye crease, which leaves an almost invisible scar.
