Many women today dream of having beautifully shaped breasts. Commonly after pregnancy, substantial weight loss and age, breasts lose their firmness and often become small. A breast enlargement could be a solution, resulting in larger, firmer and younger looking breasts. Your confidence will be boosted with your increased cup size! A successful breast enlargement is one that is not too apparent, natural looking with almost invisible scarring.
Liposuction

LIPOSCULPTURE Even after continuous efforts of dieting andexercise, certain areas of fat just don’t budge! Areas that often remainstubborn in women are the hips, stomach and thighs. In men, it’s often thestomach, love handles and sometimes the chest. With improved liposculpture techniques, it is possible to carve out asilhouette by removing fat in specific areas. Thus, giving you a harmoniousshape, with curves and firmness where you’ve always wanted.  Liposculpture or removal of sub-cutaneous fatremains one of the most popular methods. For really overweight people liposculpture is not the solution. It is advisablefirst to lose weight, either through strict dieting or by placing a gastricband/gastric bypass. Whichareas can be treated? The most common areas are the hips, stomach and interior thighs. But itis also possible to treat a double chin, and in men the chest. Arms, calves and shins are rarely a good indication for liposculpture. Oftenthe result is not satisfactory, plus blood circulation can be disturbed whentreating these areas. Treatment to the front of the thigh is not recommended, because of the risk of a wave effect. Whathappens? The areas to be treated are injected with a fluid. This fluid contains amixture of saline, adrenaline (to minimize bleeding) and xylocaine (local anesthetic). When the fluid is injected it helps to breakdown the fat cells which are thenremoved with the help of a fine aspirating tube. This technique is known as“tumescent liposculpture”. The term “liposculpture” comes from the verb “tosculp” which is exactly what is done. Liposuction is the old fashioned methodof fat removal, where large tubes were used to remove the fat cells and surgerywas done under narcosis. This technique is more painful and the risk ofbleeding is higher. The scarThere are practically no scars. The fat cells ar

EYELIDCORRECTION (BLEPHAROPLASTY) The eyes are the mirror of your face. Excessskin and folds on the upper eyelids or baggy eyelids give the impression ofpermanent fatigue. Upper and/or lower eyelid surgery can return that opensparkling regard, that you once knew. This sort of procedure isactually in the “hit parade” of the 3 most frequently carried outplastic surgery operations. Whathappens?Upper eyelidsDuring the operation, the surgeon removes the excess skin which is draggingyour eyelids down. This is done through a fine incision in your natural crease, which leaves an almost invisible scar. Lower eyelidsBags under the eyes are often caused by pockets of fat and are usuallyaccompanied by an excess of skin. The operation involves removing the fat bagsand excess skin through an incision made just under the eyelashes or atthe inner side of the eyelid, which means that there is no visiblescar.  AnestheticMost of the time a local anesthetic  issufficient. Although, it is possible to sedate a nervous patient, and ifnecessary put them completely to sleep. RecoveryAfter surgery, you will need to rest forapproximately one hour before returning to the hotel. You will not be able todrive immediately following surgery. Some medication will be prescribed(Ibuprofen and paracetamol) which you will be able to take in case of pain. Theday following surgery, you can expect your eyes to be swollen and watery, inaddition your vision may be blurred and reduced. Bruising should subside aftera week or so (for upper eyelids), but can take slightly longer when both upperand lower eyelids have been operated on. It is advisable to wear sunglasses when you go outside, and indoors ice-packsand gel masks can help to sooth the eyes and reduce swelling (although notscientifically proven). Your scars will be slightly
Tummy Tuck
From €3500 Enquire
Skin can lose its elasticity due to the ageing process or in cases of major weight loss. This leads to excess skin on the lower stomach. The stomach hangs. Sport can reinforce the abdomen but can never make up for this surplus of distended skin.  A correction of the abdomen, also called abdominoplasty or ‘tummy tuck’, can help you to resolve this problem. This operation leaves a scar in the fold above the groin and around the navel. These scars are acceptable because this operation allows you to lose one or more clothes sizes and you also get a beautifully sculpted waistline in exchange.
Facelift
From €3700 Enquire
There currently exist different names for the face lift. You will hear talk of the “Mini face lift”, the “MACS lift”, the “S-lift”, the “Soft lift”,the “SMAS lift”, the “sub-SMAS lift “ and the “Quick lift”. Your plastic surgeon will determine with you which technique suits you best. Life begins at 40! You feel more confident but this does not always show through onthe outside. When time passes your skin loses its elasticity andits glow gradually. You will notice the appearance of creases between thecorner of the mouth and the cheek (This is known as marionettes’lines) between the nose and the corner of the mouth (the nasolabialcrease) and the expression lines. Aging of the skin is caused by two principlefactors. On the one hand the force of gravity on the skin and on the other handthe skin loses its elasticity because there is less collagen in the skin.Stress, hereditary and the wrong doing of the sun are equally to cause. The following exercise is very simple and can show you how your new face willbe. Look at yourself in the mirror. Next, lie down and look in a hand mirrorhow it outlines the creases of your skin between the nose, the mouth and thecheek.Would you like to radiate eternal youth? Whichwrinkles can the face lift eliminate?A face lift allows us to turn back the clock. Thanks to this operation, you will look 10 years younger. The outline of the face is reshaped and yourskin will be firmer and will have a youthful sparkle. You are younger and it shows! A face lift allows a light correction of deeper wrinkles. The nasolabial crease and the grimace are from then on less obvious. To correct more superficial wrinkles, a peeling, laser treatment or “fillers” are more tailor made (see the paragraph on wrinkle treatment)

Plastic Surgeon Consultation
When you contact the Clinic we will arrange a consultation with Mr James Small, Consultant Plastic Surgeon. Your consultation will be private and confidential. You will be afforded all of the time that you need to fully understand the procedure you are contemplating. The initial consultation will consist of a review of your medical history, clinical examination and a full discussion of your concerns and expectations. The nature of any proposed treatment will be discussed in detail including the procedure, recovery time and any risks the procedure might entail. Where appropriate photographs will be taken to assist the discussion and written information is available about individual operations. With regard to major or cosmetic procedures the consultation will take place well in advance of your proposed treatment, giving you ample time to make the right decision. With regard to minor skin lesions such as moles and other skin lesions it is often possible to have the lesion excised in conjunction with the initial consultation thus reducing the number of visits to the Clinic. Your consultation will be with the surgeon who will carry out your operation. Post-operative care will be carried out by your surgeon., You will be reviewed at the Clinic until your recovery is complete and you are satisfied with the result of your operation.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping) This procedure reshapes, reduces and reconstructs the nose. The nose is made up of bone (bridge) and cartilage (tip). Unsightly deformities can take many forms including :• a hump on the bridge • an over-sized tip • a pointed tip • a nose that is too long (crooked) (common)• a short nose (uncommon) • a deviated nose  Many patients tell me that they have been unhappy about their nose for many years indicating that they think long and hard before deciding to explore or undergo surgery. Following rhinoplasty many patients say they regretted not having had the operation carried out years earlier. Age Group:A rhinoplasty is rarely carried out before the individual is fully grown. Beyond late teens a rhinoplasty can be carried out at any age in adulthood. There is no strict upper limit for rhinoplasty in terms of age. The Procedure:The majority of rhinoplasties are carried out under sedation and local anaesthetic as day cases. 10% require a general anaesthetic but can be treated as day case patients and only 5% are hospitalised overnight. An external splint is applied to the nose to maintain the improved shape. The splint is made of light material (steri-strips) and it is easily removed at the appropriate time – 7-10 days following the procedure. Operation Time: A reconstructive rhinoplasty, i.e. previous and failed rhinoplasty(s) or previous severe trauma, may take two to two and a half hours and might entail cartilage grafts or bone grafts. Recovery Time:If the nasal bone has been fractured the eyes will usually be bruised, otherwise bruising is remarkably slight or not at all. Bruising resolves in about seven days. The external splint is removed after seven days, by which stage you should be able to go out socially or return to work.
Eyelid surgery
The presence of loose, sagging skin (hooding), lines around the eyes (crows feet) and bulging fat under the eyes (bags) – characterise ageing of the eyes. The aim of surgery is to remove sagging skin, lines and bags thus restoring a more youthful, fresh appearance.Age Group:Who is suitable for cosmetic eyelid surgery ? The procedure can be carried out at any age but most candidates are over thirty.Anaesthetic:Most procedures can be carried out under sedation and local anaesthesia. General anaesthesia is optional but rarely necessary. The Procedure:• .• The incisions: in the upper eyelid a surgical incision is made in the eyelid crease and in the lower eyelid an incision is made close to the eyelashes. The incisions frequently must extend out into the crow’s feet / laughter lines area around the eye.• Redundant skin and fat and occasionally muscle are removed.• Bags under the eyes are caused by protruding fat. During surgery this fat is returned to the peri-orbital fat from where it came originally. The supporting layer (orbital septum) is repaired. This is equivalent to repairing a hernia.• Usually the supporting ligament of the lower eyelid requires tightening (canthopexy) to prevent post operative drooping of the eyelid (ectropion).• On completion of the procedure sutures are inserted above and below the eye and steri-strips are applied.Hospitalisation:Blepharoplasty is carried out as a day case procedures. The procedure takes between one and a half to two hours. Overnight admission is optional but rarely necessary.Recovery and Aftercare:The level of discomfort is slight. The eyelids particularly the lower eyelid tend to bruise easily. Vision is unaffected. Light pain relief may be taken. Lubrication of the eye with ointment especially at night is very important. Arnica may also be used for bruising. The sutures are removed after about four days. Bruising usually takes two to three weeks to resolve.
Gynecomastia
Gynaecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)This is a condition where female like breast development occurs in males. The condition is frequently disturbing to the individual causing him to seek professional advice and ultimately surgical correction. It is particularly prevalent in adolescents. Age Group:Gynaecomastia is particularly prevalent in adolescents. However it also occurs with relative frequency in adults and older men. Assessment:Assessment of the individual with gynaecomastia is based on two fundamentals:1. Is there an underlying condition ? In the vast majority of cases there will be no associated medical condition. A thorough medical history and clinical evaluation must be carried out. 2. In the majority of individuals a detailed assessment of the breast is the basis of a successful outcome. The distribution of glandular breast tissue and fat must be recorded. The significance between the two tissue types is that fat can be successfully removed by liposuction whereas the firmer glandular tissue cannot be suctioned. It must be removed by open surgical excision. Anaesthetic:Local anaesthetic and sedation. General anaesthesia is required in adolescents.Hospitalisation:The majority of patients undergoing surgery for gynaecomastia do not require overnight admission to hospital and they can therefore be treated as day case patients. The Procedure:This entails the reduction of:1. The fibrous glandular tissue which is usually concentrated in the centre of the breast behind the areola / nipple.2. The fat tissue which is distributed more widely throughout the breast.Operation Time:Surgery for gynaecomastia can take approximately one to one and a half hours. Aftercare:An elastic compression garment / vest is worn immediately following the surgery. It is worn for at least four weeks. Medications will include an antibiotic for five to seven days and pain relief.
Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)Introduction: This procedure is becoming increasingly popular. The majority of candidates are women of childbearing or middle-age with a history of one or more pregnancies. Significant weight gain or obesity followed by weight loss will often result in sagging abdominal skin. Men occasionally request an abdominoplasty and the procedure can be successfully performed in males as well as females. Age Group: The peak age group is therefore between thirty and fifty . Anaesthetic: The procedure is carried out under general anaesthesia and takes approximately two to three hours. Most patients stay in hospital for two days following the operation.  The Procedure: A tummy tuck is performed through a lower abdominal incision. The skin of the abdomen is dissected off the underlying muscles from the lower abdomen (pubic area) to the upper abdomen (ribcage). Dissolving sutures are used as opposed to staples. Staples tend to be more uncomfortable, they must be removed after about one week and they may leave marks in the skin.  Dressings are applied over the incisions and finally an elasticated pressure garment is worn for approximately one month. Two small plastic drains are used to ensure that fluid does not collect under the abdominal skin.

Facelift
Facelifting is designed to correct sagging and wrinkles of the facial skin. The procedure is performed through an incision which hugs the normal contours of the earAge Group: The peak age in my practice is 45 – 55. Anaesthetic: Over the past ten years the vast majority have been performed under sedation and local anaesthetic. It is a much safer technique with few complications. Hospitalisation:One of the many advantages of facelifting under sedation is that it allows the patient to go home that same day. Operation Time:A full facelift takes up to 4 hours. The timescale reflects the intricate nature of this procedure. A chin or neck lift takes 2-3 hours and a cheek or upper facelift under 2 hours. The Procedure:Different Types of Facelift:ZONE 1 UPPER 1/3 BROW BROWLIFTZONE 2 MIDDLE 1/3 UPPER FACE FACELIFTZONE 3 LOWER 1/3 LOWER FACE FACELIFTZONE 4 CHIN / NECK NECK LIFTThe surgical incision is  placed within the natural contours of the ear. Rhinoplasty
This is for individuals who have suffered trauma, sports injuries or those unhappy with the appearance of their nose. During the procedure, usually carried out under general anaesthetic, surgeons alter the size, shape and length of the nose and nostrils. Patients with deviated septums or problems with nasal breathing may opt for septo-rhinoplasty to straighten the nose and improve air flow. Augmentation rhinoplasty is performed to build up the nose in the case of a flattened bridge or a weak nose tip.
Mole Removal
Following consultation with your GP, you may be referred to Eccles Clinic for assessment of your moles. Mole removal take place in order to analyse the mole and confirm it is not malignant (i. e. containing skin cancer). Local anaesthetic is used in mole removal with minimal side effects.
Eyelid surgery
The incision usually starts at the outer margin of the eyelashes.  The fat pads below the muscle are usually reduced and the skin is then lifted upwards and outwards, gently tensioning the area and removing any overlapping skin. The incisions are closed with very fine sutures under the skin and Steri-Strips™ on the surface of the skin. This surgery is usually performed under general anaesthetic and may require an overnight hospital stay.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to replenish the supporting elements, filling lines, wrinkles and scars from the inside out. Dermal fillers can restore a smoother, more youthful appearance. While most of the new fillers do not require patch testing and are not animal based products, your consultant will discuss this treatment with you more thoroughly.
Facelift
Otoplasty
Performed to set prominent ears back closer to the head. Ear reshaping involves the reshaping and / or repositioning of the ears. During the procedure, surgeons sculpt and reshape the cartilage in the ear or develop a new pocket behind the ear to accommodate the repositioned ear. The ears are then stitched into the new position using cleverly concealed incision marks in the natural crease behind the ear. This surgery is usually completed in one-and-a-half to two hours under a general anaesthetic, or as a local anaesthetic procedure.
