Stanage Dental Practice

Richard qualified in 1987 from Newcastle University and worked in hospital for a year before moving into general practice. He moved here in 1991 with his wife Jennifer to continue to offer excellent dentistry after taking over the practice from his ‘in laws’ who owned the practice previously.

We have been a training practice for new graduates for 15 years, this means that we meet the high standards required by the postgraduate dental department of Manchester University to enable us to assist and mentor newly qualified dentists. Richard has completed numerous extensive training courses in restorative dentistry implants and holds the Certificate in Postgraduate Teaching as well as completing the Diploma course in Restorative Dentistry.

He has special interests in Crown and Bridge work, Geriatric dentistry and Dental Implants.

Jennifer is the other principal dentist here and again spent her first year in hospital training after qualifying in 1987 from Newcastle, before becoming a general practitioner here in Thornton, following on from her parents.

She has obtained the Certificate in Dental Sedation and is extremely good with nervous patients who require more time and help to overcome their fears. Jennifer has completed an extensive 1 year training course in Endodontics, as well as a three year course to obtain the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies.
