Exeter Advanced Dentistry

Rebecca joined the practice in 2016 having worked as a solicitor in Exeter for a number of years. Rebecca looks after the employment, finance and marketing side of the business, working closely with the practice owners. Rebecca also looks after the growth and development side of the business. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys days out with her family, sewing and running.

Dan qualified from The University of Bristol in 1999. After qualifying, Dan worked for 5 years in Hampshire alongside a dentist who was a specialist in root canal treatment, also known as an endodontist. This is where he developed an interest in the science and art of endodontics. Dan moved to Exeter in 2004 and has been a partner in the practice since 2009. For the past 17 years, he has been offering local dentists a referral service for root canal treatment and in 2014, Dan also completed his masters degree with distinction at the University of Warwick in endodontics (MSc endo).

In 2017 Dan stopped providing ‘normal dentistry’ and now carries out all root canal treatments in a full-time capacity, one of only a handful of dentists to do this in the South West. Having lectured on root canal treatment to both local dentists and at the University of Plymouth, he receives endodontic referrals from as far as Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset. Working with a dedicated operating microscope enables Dan to work with great precision and complete his work to an exceptional standard.

Gary qualified from The University of Bristol in 1999. Following qualification, Gary worked as a Senior House Officer in the Oral Surgery department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. During this time, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (England), by examination. Since 2004, Gary has been one of the Partners at Exeter Advanced Dentistry.

Gary’s focus is primarily on implant treatments which help people, often with widespread failing dental work, to reconstruct their mouths and make them functional and natural-looking – sometimes for the first time in a patient’s life. Having been placing dental implants for over 20 years, and having lectured both in the UK and abroad, Gary is a ‘Key Opinion Leader’ for two worldwide implant companies has a reputation for high quality, aesthetic dental work. Gary uses a CT scanner alongside the very latest in digital planning software in order to plan and help execute exacting positioning of implants so that treatment is as accurate as it can possibly be.

Since graduating as a dentist from University College Cork in Ireland in 2012, Jane has concentrated on furthering her clinical skills whilst staying committed to gentle, caring dentistry. In 2019, she completed a Master’s degree in Prosthodontics at King’s College London, achieving distinction. This enables her to use advanced techniques to restore broken and missing teeth. Her interest lies in restorative dentistry – keeping teeth and restoring them to their best possible function and appearance.

Ciara qualified from The University of Bristol in 2017, and has spent her time since working in general practices in Devon and Bristol. Ciara’s particular interests are working with anxious patients to ensure a comfortable experience as well as aesthetic restorative dentistry such as composite build-up cases, Ciara also works closely with Dr Gary Price restoring and placing implants. Her additional interests are facial aesthetics, treatment of hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), and she is trained in the use of Dermal Fillers at an advanced level. A combined knowledge and love for ‘smile design’ and facial aesthetics for rejuvenation, ensures that patients receive the full package when it comes to their treatment.

Alex qualified in 2009 in Madrid and has been working as a dentist in Exeter since 2010. He enjoys working with nervous patients providing high standards of general dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing water polo for Exeter in the Second Division National League.

Alex qualified with honours from The University of Bristol in 2011. He has worked exclusively in oral surgery since 2012, having completed junior hospital rotations in London and the Southeast, before returning to his hometown of Exeter to continue working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2013 Alex gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) by examination and has since undertaken postgraduate teaching qualifications at The University of Bristol.

Richard qualified from The University of London in 1988 and has worked exclusively in oral surgery ever since. He passed the fellowship for the Royal College of Surgeons, England in 1993 and he now holds the prestigious role of examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. Richard is widely known and very respected regionally for his care and expertise. Richard also holds a diploma in Conscious Sedation techniques from the University of Newcastle which enables him to help even the most nervous of patients.

Ben graduated as a dentist in 1993 and has worked as a Specialist Orthodontist since qualifying in 2003, taking over as principal of Park Lane Orthodontics in Reading in 2005. He has a calm reassuring manner and a wide experience with many types of orthodontic treatments, helping to produce great results for patients young and not so young!

Julia qualified from the University of Bristol in 2015 and has since gained a postgraduate certificate with distinction in surgical skills and Periodontics (gum disease). She is genuinely compassionate and good at putting patients at their ease in what is a stressful environment for many. She listens carefully to patients to establish their personal treatment needs and aims. Julia provides continuing care for patients in all aspects of general dentistry and is also able to provide simple orthodontic treatment. Currently, she is studying for membership to the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons.

Having qualified from King’s College as a Dental Hygienist in 1995, Gayle has worked within the NHS and independent businesses and has a particular interest in implant maintenance. As well as working at Exeter Advanced Dentistry, Gayle has many years of experience working within a Maxillofacial department where she helped to care for patient’s oral health as they go through radiotherapy/chemotherapy. She found this position to be incredibly rewarding and enhanced her passion for reaching out to provide care for those who find it difficult to access dental services in the traditional way.

This has led to Gayle being part of the Mouth Care Matters project and providing oral health training to health and social care settings across the Southwest, including hospital wards, care and residential homes, and homelessness practitioners

Karen qualified as a dental hygienist at Guy’s dental hospital in 1990 before moving down to the West Country. Karen has had a long career in dentistry having worked as a hygienist and also a dental treatment coordinator in practices across Somerset and Devon. She has an interest in alternative therapies and over the years has qualified as an Aromatherapist, an Indian head masseur and successfully ran her own business as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. In her spare time Karen is teaching herself how to play the guitar and enjoys growing her own vegetables in her cottage garden.

Esther is our Head Dental Nurse having worked in both NHS and private dental practices. She enjoys working alongside our Orthodontist, Ben Buffham and has just started her dental radiography course. As well as supporting the nursing team, Esther works closely with Dr Gary Price in surgical procedures. Before dental nursing, Esther worked with young deaf adults and gained her British Sign Language level 3 qualification.

Ali joined Exeter Advanced Dentistry in June 2023 with a wealth of dental nursing experience having qualified in 2012. Ali obtained her radiography qualification in 2018 and qualified as an Oral Health Educator in 2020

Bryony qualified as a dental nurse in 2020 after completing her apprenticeship. She has also worked within a hospital setting as part of the maxillofacial team.

Molly joined the practice in March 2022, having obtained her National Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2019. Molly works with Dr Daniel Zillwood providing an efficient and highly respected root canal treatment service. 

Monika joined the practice in March 2022. She is an experienced dental nurse having obtained her Dental Nursing Diploma in 1999. She loves the surgical side of dentistry and primarily works with Gary.

Kayleigh’s career in dentistry began as a dental receptionist in 2012. She gained her City and Guilds Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2016. Kayleigh works closely with Dr Gary Price in surgical procedures. She is also Gary’s PA.

Fiamma joined us in September 2021 as an Apprentice Dental nurse. She enjoys making the patients feel comfortable and at ease whilst visiting the practice. She attends College one day a week as part of her apprenticeship.

Kirsty has worked in dentistry locally since leaving college at 17. Kirsty became a qualified dental nurse in 2001. She joined the team as a Receptionist in April 2017, having previously worked in a like-minded local private practice for the last 11 years, gaining experience as a dental nurse, receptionist and practice coordinator. 

Beverley joined the practice in 2018, having qualified in 2015 as a dental nurse, and has worked across the practice with our clinicians, gaining clinical experience, which she now uses in her role as patient co-ordinator. She enjoys talking patients through treatment options and giving reassurance when needed.

Heidi joined Exeter Advanced Dentistry in 2021 and before joining us worked as a receptionist in private healthcare. She has always worked in a customer service environment and loves meeting new people. 

Liz previously worked in luxury retail and loves creating a positive experience for people. She finds it important to connect with others so they can be as comfortable as possible. Liz is currently studying part time for a BSc in Psychology and Counselling.

Lilly joined Exeter Advanced Dentistry in September 2023 after completing the National Diploma in Dental Nursing (NEBDN). She enjoys restorative dentistry and works closely with both Dr Jane Stack and assisting in hygiene appointments.

Tia joined Exeter Advanced Dentistry in 2023 after moving to the UK from Australia where she worked as a Dental Nurse since 2019. Tia has a love for health and wellness and is currently studying a Level 3 in Personal Training & Gym Instructing in her spare time to expand her knowledge in her passion.

Jessica joined us in October 2023 having previously worked in a busy hospitality environment. She loves meeting new people and prides herself in providing the best possible care and making people smile.
