It might sound bad but in fact a Root Canal is an excellent way to hold onto your teeth with minimal work and long lasting results. If tooth decay has gone too far for a simple filling you may need a root canal to hold onto your tooth. A root canal removes all the infection and then fills the site of the infection so it does not return. After the canal has been filled you may need a Crown to protect the tooth from any more damage.

 

While many root canals may be performed by your normal dentist, some may require a specialist Endodontist - Your back teeth are often the hardest to perform a root canal on.

 

The treatment should be complete in 2 or 3 visits to the dentist.

Root canals: Endodontic therapy is a sequence of treatment for the pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. This set of procedures is commonly referred to as a "root canal." Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and other cellular entities. Endodontic therapy involves the removal of these structures, the subsequent shaping, cleaning, and decontamination of the hollows with tiny files and irrigating solutions, and the obturation (filling) of the decontaminated canals with an inert filling such as gutta percha and typically a eugenol-based cement.
  • The first telephone call (in July) they made got cut off,so I just went about my business here in Corpus Christi until I finished up my projects about two months later,and finally drove with my camper van/mini-motorhome down to the border to check out the place. I just saved money by parking at the Weslaco Walmart for 4 consecutive nights. Actually,in the end, I find myself quite pleased with their service, which was very friendly, and highly professional. Jorge Vargas (root canals) is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME, as he did a total of 17 root canals ($153.00 American each) over (3) days, doing (10) on the second day alone, approx. 1/2 hour for each root canal, with many ongoing close up x-rays to gauge his progress/results on each tooth/nerve. He works pain-free, fast, yet very carefully, and very friendly/ considerately... Dominga Cortez (dental surgeon/owner) then followed up with a fiberglass post and filling in one molar that I lost the filling 7-8 months back, and she did extraction of my remaining wisdom tooth that the dentist back here in Corpus Christi, Texas had been too timid to dare to tackle after he had problems removing the other one(I had "hook-shaped" roots on my wisdom teeth...)they followed up as well with a panoramic x-ray of my teeth done on a fancy machine a couple of blocks away for ($30.00 American)of which they give you a cd-rom of to take home with you for your personal records. I am VERY pleased with their level of professionalism, friendliness, and economy of price so far, as once I arrived there they were eager to provide fast, respectful service at an affordable price, and it is my intention to follow up with posts and crowns at a later date to complete my oral rehabilitation... Review I am about 9 steps past very happy with how things went. Having said that you have to understand that dental work and colonoscopies are equally popular with me. The work that was undertaken and accomplished in a week was amazing both in terms of scale and results. The care and attention I received far exceeded anything I have experienced in Canada. As a 60 year who has lived with poor dental health for 40 years I have a very broad field to draw from for comparisons. If you are contemplating anything close to major dental work I would strongly recommend that you book a consultation. It is free, educational, painless and well worth your time. I have to conclude by saying that the very extensive work I had done (ie every tooth in my mouth) cost very close to $16,500.00. My Canadian dentist quoted me $12,500.00 to restore 4 (four) yep - 4 teeth. Ballpark for all the work that needed to be done according to my Canadian dentist - $55,000.00 - $60,000.00. So not only did I save $40,000.00 I had the work done by more professional people in a what I consider to be a state of the art facility. Certainly far more technologically advanced than the dentists I have seen in Canada. I am a professional accountant. As a generalization I refuse to recommend anyone for anything. There are way too many uncontrollable variables. I would recommend this clinic and these people without hesitation to anyone. If you do wind up going please tell them that Max says hello. Review Dr. Delgado was a bit difficult to find through this website, but I am certainly glad I did. At first I was lured by the lowest prices available, but his rapid response to all my questions put me greatly at ease. I needed 22 crowns and didn't have a lot of time to get them done also preferring sedation which was performed by an anaesthesiologist from the local medical centre. The office is brand new and the massage chair made me very comfortable. I cannot believe how fast the crowns were ready and I was done in less than 72 almost painless hours. I had considered one of the border dentists, but was concerned about security and assure you Torreon is very safe and reminiscent of Palm Springs. I was put up in a 5 star gated luxury resort complimentary and treated to a round of golf. I highly recommend Dr. Delgado as do all my friends who see my fantastic new smile.
