Dental Bridges
If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. There are options to help restore your smile. Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. The restoration can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support. An implant bridge attaches artificial teeth directly to the jaw or under the gum tissue.

Dental Crowns
If you want a smile that’s your crowning glory, you may need a crown to cover a tooth and restore it to its normal shape and size. A crown can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance. It can cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth left. It can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that’s already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. It’s also used to cover a dental implant.

Dental Sealant
A sealant is a plastic material that is usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth – premolars and molars. This plastic resin bonds into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the chewing surfaces of back teeth. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque and acids. This is usually more effective when performed on newly erupted permanent teeth. Sealants are easy for the dentist to apply, and it takes only a few minutes to seal each tooth. The teeth that will be sealed are cleaned. Then the chewing surfaces are roughened with an acid solution to help the sealant adhere to the tooth. The sealant is then ‘painted’ onto the tooth enamel, where it bonds directly to the tooth and hardens. A special curing light is used to help the sealant harden. As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will be protected from decay. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and usually last several years before a reapplication is needed.

Dentures
As an alternative to bridges and implants, dentures can be used to replace several missing teeth. It is possible to get either full or partial dentures. Full dentures remain in place by form fitting to the gum ridges. This creates a strong suction that is usually enough to keep them comfortably in place. Partial dentures often have additional ridges that fit around the natural teeth helping them stay in place. Implants used for an over denture are fitted with a ball screw. This allows the denture to be firmly snapped into place.

Root canals
Root canal treatment or endodontic treatment is a very common dental procedure to eliminate inflammation or infections deep inside the tooth. This treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent more costly tooth replacement procedures. In the center of your tooth is the root canal space, which contains the pulp tissue. The pulp is the collection of nerves and blood vessels within the tooth that stimulates tooth development when we are young. As we get older, the pulp serves only a sensory purpose. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature, or pain in the tooth and gums. If you experience any of these symptoms, your dentist will most likely recommend non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp. This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. This therapy usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required. Success for this type of treatment occurs in about 90% of cases. If your tooth is not amenable to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, you will be informed at the time of consultation or when a complication becomes evident. We use local anesthesia to eliminate discomfort.

Teeth Cleaning
Scaling is used to remove plaque and tartar beneath the gum line Using a small scaler or ultrasonic cleaner, plaque and tartar are carefully removed down to the bottom of each periodontal pocket. The tooth’s root surfaces are then smoothed or planed to allow the gum tissue to heal and reattach to the tooth. This will be followed by polishing using a gentle abrasive paste.

Teeth Whitening

Veneers
Veneers are a thin, translucent coating made out of porcelain. They are applied to the front teeth to improve their color, size, or shape. Veneers can help you achieve the smile you want.
