Dental Bridges
Guaranteed for 3 years.

If a tooth needs to be extracted or is already missing a bridge may be the solution. A bridge makes it possible to replace a lost tooth without the use of a denture or dental implant. However teeth, flanking the bridge must be reduced in order to accept the bridge structure. If these teeth already have crowns or restorations then this is not a problem, but when these teeth are healthy and whole these alterations must be deliberated.

The procedure for a crown or a bridge is very similar. Your dentist removes some of your tooth structure. An impression is made and the laboratory fabricates a custom made restoration. You will  immediately get a temporary crown that protects your prepared tooth in case the temporary crown loses, which occurs quite often,  immediately contact your dentist
With bridges or crowns, recovery is quick. It is not unusual for teeth to be sensitive for several days but if you feel uncomfortable please contact your dentist  as further adjustments might be necessary. With care, crowns and bridges last 5 to 15 years or some significant longer. With crowns or bridges you need to avoid chewing things such as popcorn kernels, nutshells, ice etc to avoid risk of breakage. Like crowns, bridges are also being used less often, as dental implants are becoming more and more popular.

Dental Checkup

Regular dental check-ups can help prevent dental problems. Leaving problems untreated could make them more difficult to treat in the future. With having a scale and polish every six month you can avoid periodontal diseases.

Dental Crowns
Guaranteed for 3 years. When the top of a tooth is lost due to decay there may be very little for the crown to actually hold onto. To gain retention a post is placed inside the tooth which forms a peg on top of the tooth and acts as a seat for the crown. Usually a post crown is a better option than having the tooth extracted with a subsequent denture or bridge, but post crowns last shorter than normal crowns.

When a tooth is heavily decayed it is more likely to fracture and lose considerable tooth substance. The greater risk is that a fracture line may go below the margin of the gum which makes restoration more difficult or near impossible. It is very important to see your dentist regularly to avoid this situation.

Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using indirect methods. Most common types:

  • Metal
  • Porcelain fused to metal
  • Metal free

Metal restorations are usually only used when  a tooth is not visible. Porcelain fused to metal crowns are the most common types and are esthetically  more pleasing than metal crowns. For those not wanting  metal there are metal free or all porcelain crowns. They have the most natural look, but they are slightly less strong and are a bit more expensive than the latter two.

Zirconia Crown
Guaranteed for 4 years.

Zirconium dioxide is a high strength ceramic material.

The look of zirconium crowns and bridges is so close to natural teeth that it is hard to tell the difference and it is this quality which makes it very useable within dental work.

This material is often referred to as ceramic steel because of its high tensile strength. Furthermore, the use of zirconium oxide virtually eliminates the risk of negative reactions in allergy-suffers.The material is not an electrical conductor and therefore does not generate an electrical charge. Since the material in non-metallic, there is no danger of corosion.

Dental Implants
Guaranteed for 10 years.

Do you have missing teeth? A dental implant is an artificial tooth root usually made of surgical-grade titanium. This is the most modern and closest replacement for natural tooth.

This small screw-like device is placed in the bone of the upper or lower jaw. After the bone has grown around the implant, implants can hold a crown, bridge or overdenture just like roots hold natural teeth in place. Under proper conditions these restorations are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. The implant stimulates no foreign body reaction in the patient and the bone bonds to its surface. Dental implants are extremely cost effective as they have a 98% success rate. In addition, implants can help preserve shape of the face, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.

If you are having only one tooth replaced, only one implant will be placed but for replacing all teeth in one jaw 5 or 6 implants are normally enough. Overdentures can be held in place with as few as 2 implants in some cases.

Panoramic Dental X-Ray

Less radiation, better images - new digital panoramic X-ray in the office

A new digital 3D panoramic X-ray was installed at the surgery at the end of July.

Reassuring positioning
The two frontal touch-sensitive supports accompany the patient’s head into the correct position, compensating for any asymmetries thanks to independent movement of the right and left supports. The direct, frontal approach of HYPERION makes it a machine as comfortable for the dentist as it is for the patient.

Super-fast scans
Short exposure times, from a minimum of 4 seconds to a maximum of 9 seconds, reduce the possibility of patient movement during the examination.

Automatic determination of exposure factors
HYPERION features innovative Morphology Recognition Technology (MRT) which automatically identifies patient size and all parameters required to ensure correct X-ray exposure.

Quick share with Ethernet or SDcard
HYPERION works standalone or connected to a PC, and you decide whether to store images safely on a memory card or share them over your local network through the industry standard Ethernet.

Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Acrylic Dentures

Fixed Partial Dentures

A removable partial denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. A fixed (permanent) bridge replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the space and attaching artificial teeth to them. This “bridge” is then cemented into place. Not only does a partial denture fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from changing position. A precision partial denture is removable and has internal attachments rather than clasps that attach to the adjacent crowns. This is a more natural-looking appliance.

Hygienist Session
In spots that our brush cannot get into the plaque continues to build up until it hardens into calculus or tartar- a yellow or brown mineral deposit which gives teeth a rough appearance. So you need your dentist to remove the plaque you can’t reach. With regular scale and polish you can also help prevent problems such as tooth decay, cavities, gum disease from arising later on.

This procedure is usually performed by a general dentist or a hygienist and in most cases an electric or an ultrasound scaler is used to remove calculus. It has a fine tip that vibrates and also emits a jet of water that washes away the debris. Different types of hand scalers and curettes can also help the dentist to remove smaller depostis. A special toothpaste and a spinning brush is used to polish your teeth and give them a shiny appearance and a clean feeling. Scale and polish is usually painless provided that you are brushing and also flossing your teeth between two appointments.

Inlay or Onlay

  • Broken or fractured teeth

  • Cosmetic enhancement

Root canals

To treat an infection in the root canal, the bacteria need to be removed. In root canal treatment, the bacteria are removed from inside the root canal system, the root canal is filled and the tooth is sealed with a filling or crown. In most cases, the inflamed tissue at the end of the tooth will heal naturally.

The only alternative to a root canal procedure is having the tooth extracted and replaced with a bridge, implant, or removable partial denture to restore chewing function and prevent adjacent teeth from shifting. Having root canal treatment on a tooth does not mean that the tooth will need to be pulled out in a few years. Once a tooth is treated, it can last the rest of your life.??If you have an infection of the pulp, you may not feel any pain at first. But if it is not treated, the infection will cause pain and swelling, hair loss, etc. In some cases, an abscess will form.

Teeth Whitening

Non peroxide products are bleach free (consist of Sodium Perborate as the active ingredient) and are therefore particularly suitable for people with sensitive teeth. When Sodium Perborate is combined with the other ingredients in the whitening formula, it becomes activated oxygen-working in a similar way as hydrogen peroxide. With the help of the LED lamp, the Non Peroxide teeth whitening will give you a bright white smile without the sensitivity associated with high percentage peroxide teeth whitening products. The treatment takes approximately an hour.

Veneers
Guaranteed for 3 years.

Veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. From €450

From €590
Porcelain Veneers
Guaranteed for 3 years.

a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated. It can use one veneer to restore a single tooth that may have been fractured or discolored, or multiple teeth to create a “Hollywood” type of makeover.
