Dr Jennifer Kearney graduated with honours from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2004. She subsequently worked in general practice in both the UK and Ireland before taking a position as a Senior House Officer in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. During this time she was awarded membership of the Faculty of Dentistry in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr Kearney then commenced her specialist training (clinical doctorate) in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and graduated with first class honours in 2010. Her doctoral research involved the evaluation of short dental implants, including patient centred outcomes. She was awarded fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2010 and is also accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology.

Jennifer spends most of her time working at the clinic at Citygate but is also a specialist periodontist at Cork University Dental School and Hospital.

Dr Seamus Sharkey graduated with honours from Cork Dental School and Hospital in 2001 as Gold medallist in restorative dentistry. Over the following six years he worked in private general practice in England, Australia and Ireland. During that period he also worked as a Senior House Officer in Australia and Dublin where he became a Fellow and Member of both Royal Colleges of Australasia and Ireland respectively. In 2006, he began a three year full time Doctorate program in Prosthodontics in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital from which he graduated with first class honours and was awarded the Dean’s Prize. In 2009 he successfully completed the Fellowship examinations for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His doctoral research focused on the radiographic interpretation of implant interfaces and he has been published in numerous peer reviewed international journals.

Dr Conor Durack graduated from Cork Dental School and Hospital in 2001. Over the subsequent five years he worked in private dental practice in the UK, Australia and Ireland before taking a position as Senior House Officer in restorative dentistry at Cork Dental Hospital in 2006. In 2007, he was awarded membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. He commenced specialist training in Endodontology in 2007 at Guys Hospital in London. At Guys, Conors research focused on the diagnostic accuracy of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the detection of external root resorption. His research has been published in the International Endodontic Journal and he has co-authored literature in the Journal of Endodontics with world leaders in this field. He is also the co-author of several undergraduate textbook chapters

Ms Sonya Cronin is our Treatment Coordinator.  Sonya is a qualified dental nurse and has worked in Citygate for two years.  She is often the first point of contact for our patients and her role is to make sure that our patients have all the information they need regarding their dental care.  She provides initial consultations where patients can be introduced to the practice, sit down with her for a cup of coffee and find out what types of treatment may be available to them.  These consultations are offered free of charge.  If you would like to see if Citygate might be the practice for you, you are more than welcome to give us a call/email and arrange an appointment with Sonya.
