Initial Consultation During your first visit the chiropractor will perform a full case history and routine series of Postural, Orthopaedic, Neurological and Chiropractic examinations before treatment is commenced. Motion palpation will assess the function of each spinal joint in order to determine the levels of restriction. There will be a follow-up appointment when the chiropractor will discuss with you, your examination results and the care plan recommendation most suitable for your condition. Additional supportive measures which will assist in your recovery (ergonomics, postural advice, nutrition and exercises) will also be advised. If deemed appropriate, X-Rays studies or MRI scan imaging may be considered for referral. Treatments - follows the Initial Consultation function of the patients need.

I've used this clinic regularly, and the service was very good. First set of treatments was for shoulder pain, which hasn't bothered me since. Second set of treatments was for lower back pain, which was harder to treat. But they gave me diet, exercise and lifestyle advice which helps manage symptoms.

Initial Consultation from £50
During the initial consultation the Doctor of Chiropractic will start by taking your history of the presenting complaint as well as any other neuro-musculo-skeletal symptoms, and past medical history. Followed by examination (postural, orthopaedic and neuro-musculo-skeletal as relevant to the complaint). A diagnosis is formed and given to the patient with a brief report of findings. X Rays may be requested.  A brief treatment may be given on the first treatment (varies according to the individual).  Furthermore, this is if the chiropractor is satisfied there is no reason why treatment cannot be started immediately (trauma, potential pathology, other contra-indications for treatment). If treatment cannot be started, then advice will be given to make you more comfortable. Prompt referral will always be made if the Chiropractor deems necessary.

Initial consultation can take approximately 40 minutes to an hour. It involves taking history into the presenting complaint as well as any other neuro-musculo-skeletal symptoms, and then past medical history.

The pain has completely disappeared. I approached Olwen with a very painful right shoulder and arm. The pain was travelling all the way down my inner and outer arm to my wrist, I couldn't lift anything at all and it was also stopping me from sleeping at night. My GP said it was a trapped nerve and that it would get better over time and to take painkillers until it did. I tried this for six weeks and was no better. Olwen was recommended to me and I'm so glad that I went to see her. Within three treatments, my shoulder and arm were far less painful. Each appointment involved only a few minutes of adjustment and now, after just eight sessions, I am completely pain-free and have a full range of movement. I can't recommend this service highly enough.
