Having graduated with an honours degree from Dublin Business School, Ruth has gone on to further her studies in the area of Trauma and Stress Recovery, training with renowned Trauma experts Babette Rothschild,
Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk and Dr. Ruth Buczynski. Although Ruth integrates the teachings from all schools of Psychotherapy in her work, depending on the needs of the individual client, it is how the body reacts to stress and trauma that Ruth concentrates on in her treatment of these clients. “Stress is seen as the number one enemy of modern life; however, stress is a biologically essential survival tool - without it, the progression of the human race would not have been possible. In primeval times, triggering the stress response may have meant the difference of life or death – today it can have disastrous consequences on every aspect of our lives.
My goal is to help my clients understand why they react the way they do to trauma and stress, and by recognising what triggers symptoms, clients can learn to control their reactions to stressful or traumatic situations.”
Ruth is available for both long and short term therapy in Remedy clinic and as well as providing therapy to clients in relation to Stress and Trauma. Ruth also works with clients presenting with the following issues – Eating Disorders, Relationship Difficulties, Self Esteem Issues, Bereavement, Anxiety and Depression, Sexual Difficulties, Sexuality, Gender Identification, Addiction, Phobia
