I had a Cruciate ligament rupture and a surgery befory my holidays. John and his team helped me with streching my leg and training my muscels. It helped and I saw a good development! I had a very good feeling going there!

Mr Andrew Cole

Biography:
Graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Malta in 2009. In 2012 obtained an MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from University College London (distinction) presenting a Master thesis entitled “The influence of medical grade sports compression garments on dynamic postural control: a randomised controlled trial.” Currently employed at the Ministry of Health providing clinical services at the musculoskeletal physiotherapy outpatients department, St. Luke’s Hospital. Andrew is actively engaged in the private health sector with a special interest in sports medicine, exercise for health prescription and biomechanics. Enjoys long distance running, football and diving.

Dr John Xerri de Caro

Biography:
John has a long history in the field of sports injuries and therapy. He graduated as a physiotherapist in 1998 from the University of Malta presenting a dissertation titled ‘Rotator muscle imbalance in the shoulder of the overhead throwing athlete’. The findings were presented at the conference of the FIMS (International Federation of Sports Medicine) held in Paris in 2000. Soon after he completed a Masters Degree in Sports Injuries and Therapy at the Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) with a master thesis entitled ‘Glenohumeral positional fault in overhead throwing athletes: implications for the use of mobilisations with movement.’ Since 2005 he has been lecturing in Sports Injuries on the undergraduate degree programme in physiotherapy. Between 1998 and 2008 John was the physiotherapist for the National Water polo Team Malta. He also participated at the GSSE in 2001 and 2003 with the MOC medical team. He has a vast experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of waterpolo, swimming and rugby injuries. Currently he lectures full time at the University of Malta and runs a private practice located at the National pool complex in Tal Qroqq. Since 2007 he has been pursuing a PhD degree in the UK researching on physiotherapy educational activities across Europe.
