Mr Michael Thompson

Job Title:
 Podiatrist
Biography:
Michael graduated in 2001 with an honours degree in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University. Gaining a position with Selby and York PCT he developed a great interest in the biomechanical aspect of podiatry and started to work closely with the specialists within the department developing his skills.
In 2006 Michael moved to Australia to develop and further his biomechanical knowledge. Taking up positions in both a private practice and in the health service he learnt and practiced a wide range of skills and techniques, including video gait analysis. Working within many multi-disciplinary teams he has regularly worked with the physiotherapists, orthotists and occupational therapists to provide the most effective treatment.
In 2008 Michael moved back to the UK and joined the North Somerset Primary Care Team in the role of lead podiatrist in biomechanics, orthotics and musculoskeletal treatments. While working in North Somerset Michael has two roles, working for the Podiatry and the Musculoskeletal interface service. He works closely with the local Orthopedic and Rheumatology departments which have broadened his knowledge and treatment regimes in relation to musculoskeletal problems.

Mr Paul Black

Specialisations:
 Homoeopathy
Biography:
I graduated from the British School of Homeopathy in 2008 after completing the four year course. As registered members of the Society of Homeopaths, I provide comprehensive treatment at a competitive price and work in accordance with the Society’s Code of Ethics. I trained as a Bowen Therapist with the European College of Bowen Studies and was awarded my Certificate of Proficiency in May 2010 before becoming a Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
My own introduction to homeopathy came after a sports injury prevented me playing competitive squash for three years in the mid 90’s. Following treatment, I returned to playing squash within 5 weeks. As well as using Homeopathy for general health complaints, I also have a special interest in using Homeopathy to support recovery from sports injuries. I am a keen runner and sailor and am often asked for health advice by my fellow club members at Portishead Running Club and Portishead Sailing Club.
I have a degree in Psychology and Mathematics. My working career started as a secondary Mathematics teacher and I still do some occasional teaching cover and tutoring. I also spent many years in corporate IT project management and certainly understand the pressures and stresses that these occupations can put on you.

Mr Jason Seaton

Job Title:
 Physiotherapist
Biography:
Jason qualified in 1995 with a degree in Physiotherapy and went on to do a diploma in Sports medicine.
Experience:
Since then Jason has worked in the NHS and with various sports teams including Weston Rugby Club, South West Women’s Hockey League and British Gymnastics as the main Physiotherapist for the Great Britain Sports Acrobatic Team. He provided medical cover for them at various World Championships including the World games in Japan, where he also looked after the Great Britain Tumbling and Trampoline Teams.
Jason is a full member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy as well as completed his Society of Orthopaedic Medicine qualification. More recently Jason has gained his Masters level qualification in Injection Therapy.
Jason continues to work full time in the NHS as an extended scope practitioner and part time in the Private sector.
He developed an interest in Knees after injuring his own knee back in 1999 which required surgery. After returning back to international competition, Jason started to develop his assessment and treatment skills around the knee. This consequently led to Jason working along Mr Michael Radford, Orthopaedic Consultant knee specialist. Jason has since developed the knee service at Weston General Hospital alongside Mr Radford especially around ligament reconstruction.
