Doctor Biography:
Consultant Neurologist. FRCP MD. Clinical interests: Headache, migraine, cluster headache, Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias, Trigemoinal neuralgia, vertigo and general neurology. She qualified from Bristol University in 1990. She undertook her research at the Institute of Neurology, UCL, investigating clinical aspects of cluster headache and, mechanisms in headache at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging. Dr Bahra gained her specialist neurology training in Wellington, New Zealand, St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), London. She has held her consultant post at Whipps Cross Hospital and the NHNN, since 2003. She runs a tertiary headache service at the NHNN, where she runs joint paediatric transition headache clinics linked with Great Ormond Street Hospital and Migraine –Vertigo clinics with the Neuro-otology department at the NHNN. Dr Bahra is also involved in development of the multidisciplinary neurostimulation headache clinics with the Pain Management team at Barts Health. Member of: British Association of the Study of Headache, International Headache Society, Association of British Neurologists, Whipps Cross Hospital Trustee, London Cancer - Brain and Spine Board and Life member OUCH UK ( Organisation for the Understanding of Cluster headache ).
