White House Dental Clinic - Richmond

Dr. Jason Burns is the Principal of The White House Dental Clinic. Graduating from Guys Hospital Dental School, he has maintained a private practice in Kew since 1990, focusing on comprehensive restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Jason additionally gained an MSc in Implant Dentistry with distinction from Guys hospital in 1999. He also places and restores implants for a number of local dental practice having placed over 1000 implants. He is a clinical instructor with the coopr8 dental group, teaching advanced cosmetic techniques to other dentists from the UK and Europe.

Jason has trained extensively in the USA initially completing “Masters Level” at the world renowned Rosenthal Aesthetic Advantage in cosmetic dentistry before completing all levels at the Dawson Institute in Florida.

Jason is also involved in the “Extreme Makeover- UK edition” TV programme, part of the cosmetic dental team involved in transforming the teeth of the participants.

He has published numerous articles in national and international journals and, by completing over 150 hours each year on courses in the USA and Europe thus expanding his education, he maintains an exceptional expertise in the latest dental procedures and technology.

He now lectures for Straumann (the worlds leading Implant Company) and has lectured for Astra and 3i in the past, as well as offering mentoring and tuition for dentists wishing to learn Implantology or Dental Smile Design.

Having begun his career as a general dentist; Jason maintains a patient base for which he provides routine family dental care. “I am proud to say that I still have many of the patients that were in the practice when I took it over in 1989. I look forward to the opportunity of sharing in the lives of my patients in the future”

Jason is married to Emma and has two children, Isabella and James and lives locally in Kingston-Upon-Thames. When not at work Jason is very active in his community serving on a number of committees involved with voluntary and community projects. You can also probably spot him on his bicycle in Richmond Park or the Surrey Hills!

Jason is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the British Society of Occlusal Studies and the Association of Dental Implantology, he also has been a senior board member of “The Probe” dental journal for over 20 years. He also sat as an active member of the LDC for over 15 years and was an expert witness in the field of forensic odontology working for both the Metropolitan police as well as private practice.

He has been awarded honorary fellowship of the prestigious International College of dentists

Kostas has been the associate dental surgeon at the White House Dental Clinic since 2007. Having qualified at the Royal London Hospital he has been practicing dentistry for 10 years.  Subsequently he completed two years of specialist training at Guy’s Hospital in Prosthodontics which deals with the replacement of missing teeth. More recently he gained Registered Specialist status with the General Dental Council.

Kostas regularly attends courses and conferences in the UK and internationally as part of his commitment to continuing professional education. His areas of special interest include conservative adhesive techniques, bite problems and aesthetic dentistry. He is member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the American Equilibration Society and he annually attends their meetings in Chicago.

In the last 3 years he has been teaching undegraduate and postgraduate dental students at King’s College (Guy’s Hospital). This involves giving weekly seminars, clinical demonstrations and supevision of patient treatment.

We are privileged to have the services of Joe at our clinic. He is one of the most highly experienced and respected dental anaesthetists in the country and has worked with us for over 10 years, performing most of our Intra Venous sedation work. He is constantly in demand to give lectures and works with the most prestigious dentists in the West End. Dr. Burns works on a regular basis with Joe for all for nervous patients and those requiring extensive dental procedures. A luminary in his field, Dr Omar lectures all over the world and teaches at the Eastman dental clinic.

Joe Omar spent his early years in South Africa before his family came to the UK. He qualified as a doctor from Cairo University in 1976 and returned to the UK to pursue a career in Anaesthesia. He left the NHS in 1984 to establish a private practice in Dental Anaesthesia/Sedation for dental patients. Joe is especially keen to help patients who are nervous, anxious, frightened, or who have had bad experiences in the dentist’s chair. He is also able to help those who have a strong gag or retch reflex, for which he is able to use sedation as well as acupuncture.

Joe is a Clinical Lecturer and Examiner in Sedation at the Eastman Dental Institute, CPD, UCL. He is strongly of the opinion that safe sedation stems from developing great skills, improving one’s knowledge, accumulating experience, and last but not least, continuing education and keeping up to date.

He has lectured on Sedation and on Medical Emergencies for the past 20 years or moreto audiences in the UK as well as many parts of the world, including Canada, South Africa and the Seychelles. He is well known for his unique delivery and sound understanding of the subject.

Joe served on the ‘Standing Committee for Sedation in Dentistry’ convened by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Anaesthetists from 2007-2010 and is Council member of the Association of Dental Anaesthetists (ADA).

Joe is married to Lynne and has four daughters, and is a very keen Squash and Racketball player.

My journey in dentistry started in Belgium back in 2001 when I qualified as a Dental nurse. After working for a couple of years in different practices, I decided to pursuit my career in dentistry and moved to the vibrant city of London to study Dental Hygiene/therapy. Having had a strict and good training of almost 3 academic years, I qualified as a dental hygienist/therapist from the Eastman Dental hospital in 2006

I joined the White house dental clinic in 2007 when there were a lot of changes made at the practice to improve the provision of treatment, especially in the hygiene sector.

Under the good guidance of Dr Burns and Dr Karras to provide comprehensive dental care, I am glad to say that I now have a number of dedicated clients who are happy with the care they receive and enjoy good oral health. Along side the white house dental clinic

I have worked in different practices mainly in the London West end including Harley Street.

My future ambition is to get involved in dental research, which I believe will enable me to provide evidence based treatment to my patient/clients. This led me to start an Msc course in Dental public health at the Kings College which unfortunately had to be interrupted because of the arrival of my twin boys. I currently hold a post graduate certificate in Dental public health and plan to continue my Msc in September 2012

In my ever increasingly hard to find spare time, being a working mother of 3 young boys, I participate in a Zumba class for a bit of fun and exercise.

I qualified and registered as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist from Kings College London just over five years ago. Living in London my whole life I knew this was exactly where I wanted to be. I became accustomed to the fast-paced lifestyle and enjoy the thrill of meeting such a diverse range of people through working and studying here.

I started my working life by taking on a voluntary Vocational Training scheme. This instilled me with the experience and knowledge to better my clinical skills and take my working abilities to the next level. I heard lectures from fascinating people and worked alongside well-established dentists. Having worked in various practices I then started my journey with The Whitehouse Dental Clinic in 2010. Here, supported by an excellent team I have managed to settle in nicely and enjoy working with patients I have gotten to know over time. I also work in two different practices when I am not at WDC.

I started my career in dental nursing back in 1994, in a practice in my home town of Brentford.  Since then I have worked in a number of NHS and private practices in Isleworth and Twickenham and through experience gained registration as a dental care professional.

It was also in 1994 when I met my partner, who worked in the shop next door to the dental practice. After years of savings and thanks to the recession we were finally able to get onto the property ladder, and are now finally settled.

I started working at the Whitehouse Dental Clinic back in March 2007 with Dr Burns’s associate Dr Kostas Karras.  Later In 2009 I began working alongside Dr Jason Burns and continue to do so. He has trained me in Implant Dentistry as well as all aspects of Smile Design and Rapid Adult orthodontics at our Richmond Clinic. I have learnt more in the last 3 years than the previous 14 put together!  Its great to be part of such a well established dental clinic and I love working with someone who is as much as a perfectionist as me!

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends and family, going on lots of holidays and generally just enjoying life!

Born and raised in London I am a true city girl. I qualified and registered as a Dental Care Professional just over six years ago and started my Career working in the Harley Street District. After 6 years of commuting on our ever popular Tube, I decided to take some time out to start a family.

After a year with my Beautiful baby girl, and a yearning of being closer to home, I joined the Whitehouse Dental Clinic in September 2011, replacing the very popular Hayley. Here I work alongside the lovely Lauren as second half to our front of house team, looking after all our new and existing patients and making sure everything runs smoothly.

My working life a side, I have a busy 2012 ahead with my wedding in September being the focus of my year. After 6 years with my partner Steve he has decided to at last make an honest woman of me! We will wed in our home town of Wandsworth, South London and I am also looking forward to our exciting Honeymoon in Tunisia.

In my spare time I enjoy spending oodles of time with my family, socialising with friends and being a yummy mummy!

I call Australia home. Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland, I now find myself enjoying the London life after spending a year in the Rocky Mountains of Canada! (So the cold change is not a first for me.

Having spent 7 years working in the Dental industry in Australia, both nursing and on reception, I am happy to be doing what I love here in the big smoke, thanks to the opportunity from Jason and the team here at the Whitehouse.

All staff has made it such a smooth transition for me and I feel right at home here.

In my spare time I enjoy catching up with friends both from Australia, Canada and new pals that I’ve met here in London. I also play basketball in the London women’s metropolitan league for the Leyton ‘Red Ravens’.

I am a keen traveller and try to get away when I can to see as much of this beautiful world as possible

I am originally from Michalovce, a very small town in Slovakia and I moved to the UK in 2004. I have been dental nursing for 4 years and have a wide experiance in this field. I started my career in a busy NHS/Mixed practice as a trainee dental nurse and have never looked back as i find the job so stimulating and rewarding.

I got my nursing qualificationin May 2011 form Bracknell and Wokingham College and I am very keen and motivated to learn more to persue my nursing career.

I recently joined the WhiteHouse Dental Clinic and find the whole practice and team welcoming and vibrant and they have made my introduction into the practice a lovely experience.
