Dental Implants: A dental implant is an artificial tooth root, essentially a titanium rod, which is surgically placed into the jawbone and acts as an anchor for fastening dentures or crowns onto. It supports a replacement tooth or group of teeth, called prostheses, including crowns, implant-supported bridges and dentures.  The bone grows up to and around the implant to hold it firmly in place. Once firmly in place the implant is then uncovered, a post inserted and a crown made to fit the post. A temporary solution will be needed to fill the gap whilst the bone is securing the implant. It is cutting edge technology with near perfect aesthetics achieved, and avoids any damage to other teeth.  Although it is one of the more expensive ways of replacing a lost tooth or group of teeth, it is a fixed and permanent solution with a 98% success rate.
