The Law on Professional Organizations of Physicians and Dentists deals with how the Union of Dentists should provide monitoring of current standards, encourage training and continuing education.

Complaints

The Union of Dentists in Bulgaria (UDB) is divided into regional chambers. Each chamber has a commission for professional ethics. Registered dentists must comply with the ethical guidelines of the profession. Complaints are judged by the local ethical commission which has the ability to reprimand, fine or remove dentists from the dental register.

I had been without several pre-molars and molars on both sides of my lower jaw all my life. This condition was genetic and, in the absence of these teeth, I was forced to chew mainly with my front teeth. The result of this was that by the time I was 48 my front teeth had worn away very badly. My other teeth were not in a very good state either. Anyway, to cut a long story short, by chance I came across The Alpha Dental Studio in Sofia, Bulgaria while I was on holiday. This was the best piece of 'luck' I ever had. I have since had my gaps filled with perfect bridges and implants, all my old metal fillings replaced with top class porcelain ones and my front teeth are so perfectly capped no one would know they were not natural. I found Dr Dimitrov (now my permanent dentist even though I live in the UK) to be not only a perfectionist and expert in his field, but someone who always goes out of his way to ensure that the patient has a relaxed and stress free experience from start to finish. He even arranges a pickup from the airport and a hotel if needed. All this would have been wonderful enough but I paid approximately one quarter to one third of the price I would have paid in the UK (that is including the flights and hotel). All in all, I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. M Derby Scotland UK
