A guide to plastic surgery regulations in the Czech Republic

The Ministry of Health is responsible for the health policies of the Czech Republic. It oversees a number of institutions such as the Institute of Health Information and Statistics and the Drug and Technology Control Institute.

Registration of physicans is handled by the Czech Medical Chamber, which is independant of government. The Chamber publishes the ethical code that physicians in the Czech Republic must abide by, the code is enforced by the Disiplinary Council. The Chamber is also responsible for registering recognized surgical specialists such as plastic surgeons.

Plastic surgeons must belong to the Society for Plastic Surgery (Společnost plastická chirurgie). The society is currently reorganizing its membership structure, allowing full membership only to specialists in Plastic Surgery: At present the society is open to surgeons in related fields such as Otolaryngology. Once membership is restructured the Society plans to list its membership online.

The Czech Society for Aesthetic Surgery is a younger organization whose membership is focused on cosmetic surgeons. The society has an online list of its members, all of whom are full plastic surgeons.

Education

The Czech system of medical education is harmonized to E.U standards. A basic medical degree requires 6 years of training. Access to specialty training is limited. Plastic Surgery (Plastická chirurgie) requires a minimun 5 year registrar period.

The Czech Republic has a mandatory system of Continuing Education, points are obtained for attending training seminars and lectures. Re-accreditation takes place every 5 years. Roughly 100 hours of training is required in each accreditation period.

Complaints

The Czech Medical Chamber has a disipinary section, The Honorary Board. This addresses complaints against registered physicians.

Storage and Access to Medical Records

In addition to the ethical rules of the Czech Medical Chamber, physicians and clinics must comply with the governments Act on personal data protection. A data protection agency oversees the enforcement of these rules.

Doctors have an ethical requirement to respond to resonable requests for access to personal data, in as short a time as possible.

I had my breasts done 6 years ago in London, I paid back then 5.000 pounds and the result wasn't great even though the clinic I went was very well known.. My friend suggested Perfect Clinic, she had her nose done there last year and the result is Perfect! I was hesitant and could not find many reviews, the price was pretty cheap too compared to London and I wasn't sure. My friend was very convincing though and off I went! Her nose looked so good after all, she had her operation with Dr. Roman Kufa, and I hoped he would do a good job with my breasts too! I booked a consultation/surgery for my breasts; I liked what I heard and went through with it! The result? I am ecstatic!!! I paid around 3000 euro for the surgery, post op bra, antithrombotic tights, and a night at the hospital (a far cry from the 5000 POUNDS I paid 6 years ago in London. I have no words, I am so happy with the results, from 32B I went to 32 D, the breasts look so natural and the incision is almost invisible, it was made around the perimeter of the areola!!! The staff are very friendly, extremely helpful, know English and are there to answer all your questions!!! My room was modern and beautiful, the food very tasty too! I had my op done and the next day in the afternoon I flew back to the UK. It is up to you really but I had to be back asap! I had no problems with flying at all!
