Thomas Norlin
Biography:
Thomas Norlin would probably have been a vet today, had vet school not stopped their intake for some years. Instead, he became a dentist, and a talented and ambitious one at that (shame for the sick cows but lucky for his dental patients). “What I like most about my job is making people proud of their smile", says Thomas, who works as an in-house specialist at SE1 Dental Centre. He is a cosmetic dentist and implantologist, with special skills in bone regeneration and the creation of natural gum profiles around implants. Outside his clinical work, Thomas has been involved in the development and launch of a new product against halitosis (bad breath). "It removes bad breath almost 100% for 12 hours and it is available in four countries today. Hopefully it will be available in the UK in the next 12 months". A member of ADI (Association of Dental Implantology) and BACD (the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry), Thomas needs to attend various seminars and courses throughout the year. He also reads 10 pages on dental science each day, just to make sure he keeps up to date. "It may not sound much but it adds up to 3,650 pages per year, which is quite a lot of science." When he’s not working, Thomas likes to ski and, when in the right mood, he is an excellent chef.
