He was born in Ankara in 1972. He attended primary, secondary, and high school in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. After completing his university education, he received training in the specialty of Cardiovascular Surgery and became a Cardiovascular Surgeon Specialist in 2003. In 2015, he received the title of Associate Professor as a result of the exam he took. In 2017, he was appointed as a faculty member at the University of Health Sciences. In 2020, he received the title of Professor.

Between 2014 and 2018, I served as an assistant researcher in the TUBITAK-supported Cell

 Study.

He received the FIRST prize in the best study competition at international meetings twice (2018 and 2021) and received training on Minimally Invasive Heart Surgeries (Closed-method Heart surgeries) in Germany (Ruhr University Bochum, Bad Oeynhausen Germany) as a scholarship. He received training on closed-method bypass surgeries in Ukraine.

The 15th event organized by the Turkish Heart and Health Foundation. The study entitled "A NEW WAY IN RHEUMATIC MITRAL VALVE DISEASE: CYTOCHROME P450 AND GLUTATHIONE S TRANSFERASE ISOZYME EXPRESSIONS" presented by Erdal Şimşek at the meeting of the International Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery was awarded the FIRST prize. As a reward, our best presenting participant was awarded a 1-month scholarship at the Ruhr University Bochum Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany.

In 2005, I started working as a neurology specialist at Ankara Başkent University Hospital and spent two years working academically in general neurology. 

Between 2008 and 2014, I started my PhD in Neuroscience at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, where I received Dectara training on the mechanism and treatment of resistant chronic headaches and noropathic pain. Here I participated in about 1000 studies on patients with chronic headaches for the treatment of intractable headaches with trigger point nerve blockade needle therapy. Here, I received the award for the best researcher in Europe for my work on migraine modeling using animal experiments.

In 2010, I received intraoperative EMG (IOM) training at St. Roosevelt Hospital, Columbia University, New York. 

Between 2015 and 2016, I worked in the Department of Neurology of the University of Cape Town in the areas of headache, Neuropathic diseases, November muscle diseases, Alzheimer's disease and infection-related neurological diseases.

Areas of particular interest to me are chronic resistant headache fibromyalgia, dementia disease management and family information, Parkinson's disease,neuropathic pains, vertigo.
