Work with families helps to strengthen support and consider new ways of negotiating the parental and adolescent role.

Offering a Relational approach I solutions can be found in the letting go and trusting of your own resources and wisdom. Help in finding these resources comes through talking through difficulties and finding solutions in the counselling space. Individuals and families are supported through what ever issue or crises presents. I have worked with many services in the Connaught region including CROI, HSE and local schools as both a stress management facilitator and Adolescent Educator and Adult/Children's Yoga Teacher. I would definitely recommend

5 50 Psychotherapist Consultation

I have been going to see Gina for a while now and I find her very good.I would definitely recommend her to anyone who was considering going for counselling. I went through a hard time and I am now doing so much better thanks to Gina's help. Any time I'm having a bad day and I find everything is getting on top of me all I have to do is give her a call and she will fit me in for an appointment to see her. She is very easy to talk to and I always feel so much better after our appointments. Someone recommended her to me and I am so glad I made that phone call to make my first appointment.

I found the counseling I was given extremely helpful

5 50 Psychotherapist Consultation

I attended Counselling West for help coping with some work and family related issues that were causing anxiety and unhappiness.
I found the counseling I was given extremely helpful...and I'm a pretty cynical person. It was non-judgemental and supportive. The coping skills I learnt were practical and sensitive to my needs...stuff I could do to help myself and not airy fairy. I was initially hesitant about going to counseling, as I've never gone before, but I quickly felt at ease. Now I think everyone should go to counseling!

I am very grateful for Gina's support throughout the programme and could not recommend her enough.

I have trained specifically with an approach called Gestalt adolescent psychotherapy. Adolescence can be a very difficult confusing time which can raise a lot of anxiety and stress. Exam pressure, heightened anxiety, relationship issues, personal identity can all be a confusing upsetting time. I work with the adolescent and their family to figure out the best way to support an adolescent and help the adolescent to figure out what is important to them. A family session is offered initially to help everyone understand what is happening for the adolescent.  Individual confidential work  work with the adolescent is then offered.

General Practice

Drug Addiction Treatment

Following a programme of rehab for drug or alcohol misuse many people find that they would like further support to explore issues which have come up during treatment. I offer one-to-one support for someone who has been through a treatment programme and is committed to positive change in their life.

Dealing with stress has almost become a regular feature of our everyday lives. Being able to talk about aspects of your life which are becoming increasingly difficult to mange may help you to focus on alternative ways of managing your life in a more positive way. Together we look at effective ways to improve your outlook, to manage expectations differently and to find a better way of coping so you begin to feel less stress in your life.
