I incorporate a Person-Centered approach. The person-centered approach views the person as their own best authority on their own experience. I also adopt when required a Psychodynamic approach. Psychodynamic psychotherapy considers that people repress past traumatic experiences, which can affect their personalities and behaviors in relationships.  The goal of talking to a counsellor / psychotherapist is to help you make sense of what is going on in your life. Reflecting on your past experiences and how they impact on the present, can help you understand the person you are today. I believe in the strength and courage of anyone seeking therapy and facing their struggles head-on. Counselling can give time and an opportunity to develop insight and understanding of how you exist in your world and explore aspects of your life that may be inhibiting personal growth and can provide new ways to move forward. This insight is what can make change possible as our patterns of behaviour are explored and understood and as a consequence make it easier to make new choices and decisions. I understand that the counselling work can be challenging but for most people counselling is a life changing, positive experience that creates greater self-awareness and understanding of our world. As part of my practice I receive ongoing supervision to maintain well-informed, ethical practice. I am also committed to my own continual professional development and regularly attend courses and training forums, alongside reading relevant literature, research and articles as a means of keeping my counselling skills up to date.

At some time or another we all face difficulties and challenges in our lives. At times these troubles can feel overwhelming leaving us feeling helpless and alone. People seek therapy for many different issues such as Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Loss, Bereavement or Addiction issues. At other times people have issues which are deeply entrenched, that have been ‘bubbling away’ for some time and are now seeking attention. Talking with an accredited therapist can help alleviate the stress and help a person learn to cope with their situation in a better way.

Best You Counselling and Psychotherapy - Psychotherapy Clinic in IrelandFeatured

Best You Counselling and Psychotherapy

Various Locations in Dublin with Online and Phone Sessions Available, Dublin
Best You Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a broad range of confidential counselling and psychotherapy services.  Depending on your location, sessions can be conducted either in person, online or by phone.  Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you to get to your appointment and so we provide early morning (before working hours) evening and weekend appointments as well as standard day time slots. Those living in different time zones will also be accommodated as best we can! In life unfortunately we will all have difficult experiences at one time or another - it is part of the contract of being alive. We are often unaware that it can be the meanings we unconsciously take forward from negative experiences, rather than the experience itself, that can be most unhelpful to us. While it can be difficult at times to speak about our problems, the process of therapy can be extremely rewarding and insights gained can have ongoing and positive impact in all areas of your life.   For those who find the concept of therapy challenging or anxiety provoking we wish to assure you that once you take the first step these anxieties usually fade very quickly – in fact we have had many clients who had reported after therapy that they wish they had started their own process years ago! At Best You Counselling and Psychotherapy our aim is to support you in becoming the Best You possible!
