Deirdre Culbert

John Bourke - at Fresh Pathway

John Bourke

Biography:

For over 30 years, I have worked as a healthcare professional supporting individuals from all walks of life with their healthcare challenges and in promoting wellness, across a range of healthcare roles and community and commercial settings.

As a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and accredited member of IAHIP, I recognise the therapeutic relationship as a powerful resource for healing, agency and growth. Psychotherapy can support relief from psychological and emotional suffering, including experiences that may feel complex, inaccessible, threatening, hopeless, draining, confusing or lonely.

As a member of the psychotherapy research community at UCD, my research focuses on the role of the therapist’s personal self in supporting the therapeutic process and on therapeutic presencing. I believe the therapeutic setting can provide individuals and couples with the space and support to find their next step towards healing and vitality.

Deirdre Culbert - at Fresh Pathway

Deirdre Culbert

Biography:

I offer a supportive, safe and confidential space for psychotherapy and counselling, working with adolescents, adults and couples through both in-person and online sessions. My compassionate, non-judgmental approach helps clients feel heard and understood while supporting meaningful change and personal growth.

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual or couple. I support clients with attachment issues, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, overthinking, depression, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, relationship difficulties, sexual and gender identity, workplace challenges, burnout, self-esteem, life transitions, student challenges, bereavement and loss, and couples in conflict.

I consider each client within their current life context, focusing on their relationship with themselves, others and their wider social and cultural environment. Therapy provides a reflective space to explore emotions and experiences that influence thoughts, behaviours and decision-making.
